A New Corn Kid in Town
Golden Eagle's senior center Cory Ainsworth (aka Corn) has been an absolute menace in the first three games of the season. He recorded his second double-double of the year last time out with 24 points and 13 boards to tie his career high once again for rebounds. Ainsworth is shooting 69.6% from the field, as he has shot over 60% in all four seasons as a member of CU. Ainsworth helped Cornerstone dominate over receiving votes Olivet Nazarene last weekend, winning 94-77 on the road to move to 2-1 on the year. He also surpassed 1,000 career points to become the 47th player in Golden Eagle program history to do so.

Dominance vs. CCAC
Hall of Fame Head Coach Kim Elders has beaten up on a lot of good teams over his career, but very few conferences have suffered the wrath of the legendary Head Coach like the Chicagolands Collegiate Athletic Conference (CCAC) as he is now 37-7 all-time against opponents from that conference.

50% From the Field
The Golden Eagles have been outstanding shooting the ball, sitting at 50% from the field exactly through three games. CU has shot above 50% in two of the three contests, with the only time being under in their lone loss to (5) Indiana Wesleyan. The last time Cornerstone shot above 50% in two of their first three games was in the 2018-19 season, where they shot above 50% in three of their first four, with yet again the only game under that mark being against Indiana Wesleyan.

Scouting UM-Dearborn
The Wolverines have had a busy start to the year, already playing five games and going 1-4 in those contests. They are very young with just one senior and six freshmen on the roster and it has shown as they average 74.0 PPG, while giving up 96.4 a game. Offensively, UM-Dearborn is very balanced with six players averaging over six points per game. The defensive end is what has hurt them however as opponents shoot 51.1% against them and they have allowed 90 or more points in four of their first five games. The team's lone win came last time out vs. Judson in a 90-89 victory.

Scouting UNOH
The Racers have played three games so far in 2022-23 and have gone 1-2 with a three-point win in their opener at Goshen and a pair of losses to Mount Vernon Nazarene and Spring Arbor. UNOH will host Madonna and Cornerstone this week for their first two home games of the year in a very tough environment at the Garage. Northwestern Ohio is another young team with just one senior and six freshmen. Almost all the Racer production comes from the trio of Biggz Johnson, Mohamad Kraidly, and Hunter Bode as the trio leads the team in scoring, assists, and rebounds. A season ago, UNOH got a win against Cornerstone inside Racer Gymnasium, winning 60-55. A week later the two met again and CU dominated in Mol Arena with an 81-52 victory.
