Cornerstone is 8-2 on the year now as they will face a much tougher (2) Grace College of Indiana team on Tuesday night inside Mol Arena for their next contest.
Game Flow
  • Luke Rowlinson got CU going early, hitting a wild layup high of the glass in the lane followed by a step-in three to give the Golden Eagles a 7-2 lead in the opening minutes.

  • After another easy Cory Ainsworth layup, Grace Christian would use their first timeout trailing 21-11.
  • Cornerstone would go to all bench players in the middle of the first half. The scoring slowed for both sides for roughly a two-minute span, but the second Cory Ainsworth returned to the floor the inside game got rolling again as he hit two easy buckets to increase the lead to 27-14.

  • The Golden Eagles would take a 42-21 lead into the halftime break.
  • Early in the second half as the Tigers continued to struggle from three, a flop warning was called on a GCU deep ball attempt leading to a technical free throw for the Golden Eagles.
  • Grace Christian started to press a little higher and got a few steals to cut their deficit to less than 20. Trent Summerfield responded with an outstanding move on the baseline for an easy score to but CU back on top by 20.
  • Cornerstone continued to advance their lead with a Toby Woolcock layup to make it 67-37.
  • GCU quickly responded with a 4-0 run to bring the deficit back to 26, 67-41.
  • Some late turnovers by the Tigers allowed Cornerstone to run away with it even more. Connor Dykema would get a fast break dunk and Lewis Jones would hit a three to increase their lead to the largest of the game at 82-46.
  • Lewis Jones would continue to shine as both teams went to the deep bench in the final five minutes, hitting a three to put CU on top by 41.
