Tournament Outlook/Ticketing
The 2022 AQ/CU Classic will see six teams competing at both Aquinas and Cornerstone athletic facilities. For a full tournament page visit the link
HERE. Four of the six teams competing are NAIA Top 25 or receiving votes programs with Bellevue coming in as the highest ranked team at number 12. Both Cornerstone and Aquinas will host three matches each day with games at 3, 5, and 7 p.m. on Friday and 11, 1, and 3 on Saturday. Tickets will be provided by each individual facility. Cornerstone will be charging 12 dollars for a day pass for adults and 10 for students and seniors that will get fans into all three contests. Fans will also have the option to pay for a single game pass for the standard seven dollars for an adult and five for seniors/students. Please note that Cornerstone is providing ticket prices separate from Aquinas.
The 2k Run
Patsy Morris is now just four digs away from becoming the seventh in program history to do so. Due to her outstanding start to the year, she was named the WHAC Defender of the Week as the senior Libero is averaging 5.65 digs per set this season, and had over six per set in the Bellevue Labor Day Classic. Morris is on pace for nearly 800 digs this season, which would be a single season career high for her.
Lenz earns WHAC Setter of the Week
Sophomore setter
Aubrey Lenz also was honored by the WHAC earning her first Setter of the Week award of the 2022 season. Lenz tallied a career high 47 assists vs. (24) Ottawa and she has already tallied four double-doubles in the 2022 season.
Keelean nears 1000 kills
Senior outside
Olivia Keelean has brought her career kill total to 926 as she continues her pursuit to be the next 1000 kill and 1000 dig player at Cornerstone. She needs 74 to achieve the 1000 career kills and she already achieved 1000 digs in the first tournament of the year.
T-Shirt Friday
Cornerstone as part of their home opener on Friday will be throwing out T-Shirts as part of starting lineups on Friday night during their 7 p.m. game. Be sure to come out for a chance to win a free T-Shirt and support CU in their home opener.
