Men's Basketball hits the road to Madonna for a WHAC matchup

GRAND RAPIDS, Mich. – Men's Basketball opened up WHAC play with a dominant victory over UNOH 95-71. Cornerstone moves to 4-1 (1-0) on the young season playing good basketball as they have another road test against WHAC opponent Madonna on Tuesday, November 21.

Cornerstone started off WHAC play with a dominant victory over UNOH 95-71. It was a game with a lot of fouls and timeouts, but Cornerstone found a way to win another game. Cory Ainsworth led the way with a game high 24 points and eight rebounds as the big man has started to get into a nice groove. Freshman Kayden Bird had a career high 20 points off the bench thanks to making a game high six threes. The Golden Eagles will have another true road test against Madonna, a place Cornerstone has struggled to play in recent years, losing the last four games played at Alliance Catholic Credit Union Arena.
 
Looking at Madonna
Madonna comes into the matchup against the Golden Eagles with a record of 4-2, coming off a road win against Indiana Tech. The Crusaders have multiple wins against ranked opponents to open the season. Cornerstone and Madonna has been a back-and-forth affair in previous years with the home team usually finding a way to win. Madonna has won the previous four matchups when they are the home team as they will look to protect their home court once more against the Golden Eagles. Madonna is averaging 77.2 points per-game while holding opponents to 77.2 points per-game. Brendan Young leads the way for the Crusaders averaging 17.2 points and 7.2 rebounds per-game. Expect a close one again between the Golden Eagles and Crusaders.
