Last Week Recap
The Golden Eagles finish off a tough week last week going 2-1 with their one loss being a heartbreak five set thriller against Madonna. Cornerstone got the best of Rochester in three sets and then went into Concordia and escaped with a five set victory.
Kylie Barron was named WHAC Player of the Week for her play as she led the way with a career high 18 kills, numerous blocks, and even had three service aces to led the Golden Eagles to a 2-1 week.Â
WHAC Outlook
A lot can happen over the weekend between the five through eight seed in the conference standings. Each seed is separated by one game with Lawrence Tech currently being the fifth seed with a conference record of 10-9. Cornerstone and Michigan-Dearborn are tied for the sixth spot with records of 9-10 with Concordia being the last seed at 8-11. Anything can happen over the weekend before the WHAC Tournament is finalized and ready to go on Wednesday, November 8.
Looking at Michigan-Dearborn
Cornerstone got the best of Michigan-Dearborn in the first matchup of the season winning 3-0 winning on their home court. It is never easy to win on the road especially with a higher seed on the line for the conference tournament. The Wolverines have been on a role their last three games beating two higher seeds in Aquinas and Lawrence Tech to highlight their win streak. They have lost just two sets in their past three games and will be looking to continue their momentum against the Golden Eagles this weekend. Michigan-Dearborn is led by senior Sydney Eggleton who has surpassed 300 kills on the season and setter Regan Rose who has 939 assists for the year.Â
