SOUTHFIELD, Mich.  – A western Michigan versus eastern Michigan battles comes to an unfortunate end for the Golden Eagles as they fall one set to three against the Lawrence Tech Blue Devils in Don Ridler Field House. Cornerstone will look to move froward from this tough away loss and push towards the weekend of away matches. The Galanes brothers led the way all night for Cornerstone as they had a game high 18 kills apiece to try and will the Golden Eagles back into the game. Cornerstone will continue their road trip at Saint Xavier on Friday, March 17 starting at 8 p.m. and wrap up their weekend at Trinity Christian College on Saturday, March 18 at 12 p.m. 
 
Game Recap – Lawrence Tech – 3 Cornerstone – 1 (20-25, 25-19, 15-25, 22-25) 
·       Set 1 
    ·       The first set is tight as both teams trade kills and service errors with each other. The score is 6-6 early in the first set. 
    ·       Cornerstone sees their first lead off a kill from outside hitter David Galanes. The Golden Eagles follow that up with a block to grab a 9-6 lead.  
    ·       A service ace from Lawrence Tech and a blocking error by Cornerstone ties the game up 10-10. 
    ·       A line shot and a kill off the block from Andrew Galanes keeps the first set tied 13-13. Neither team able to find their rhythm early on. 
    ·       The Blue Devils go on a 3-0 run in the first set, forcing Cornerstone into calling their first time out. Lawrence Tech leads 19-16.
    ·       Lawrence Tech finds their stride, winning the first set 25-20. 

·       Set 2 
    ·       Patrick Voloch sets Andrew Galanes on the right side, who kills the ball uncontested. Cornerstone builds their lead in the second set 6-3. 
    ·       The Blue Devils struggle to get the ball back over the net, Cornerstone earns the point and goes up 9-5. 
    ·       An attack error by Lawrence Tech sees the Golden Eagles lead 13-9. 
    ·       A big block by Andrew Galanes keeps the advantage with Cornerstone 14-11. 
    ·       Brunno Peres gets his own kill off the block, maintaining the Golden Eagle's lead of 17-15. 
    ·       The Blue Devils with another attack error give Cornerstone a 20-16 late in the second set. 
    ·       Hubert Sliwinski blocks Lawrence Tech to make the score 23-18, Cornerstone leads. 
    ·       An attack error from the Blue Devils closes out the second set, Cornerstone wins the set 25-19.

·       Set 3 
    ·       David Galanes gives Cornerstone their first two-point lead of the set, 3-1. 
    ·       Hubert Sliwinski knocks down the set from Patrick Voloch to keep Cornerstone ahead 4-2. 
    ·       Brunno Peres records his first service ace of the match to break the tie 7-6. 
    ·       Two service aces in a row give Lawrence Tech the lead in the third set 8-7. 
    ·       The Blue Devils go on a 4-0 run to bring their lead up to 11-8, which is followed by a Cornerstone timeout. 
    ·       Lawrence Tech finds their stride again tonight; they continue to build their lead in the third set 18-12. 
    ·       Cornerstone is only able to score three more times in the third set, as Lawrence Tech ends the set 25-15. 

·       Set 4 
    ·       A far-left corner shot by Andrew Galanes sees the ball smash into the court, followed by a sloppy pass from Lawrence Tech's defense sees Cornerstone to a 4-1 lead early in the fourth set. 
    ·       Lawrence Tech returns the favor to give Cornerstone the lead 10-9 on a service error by the Blue Devils. 
    ·       A blocking error and an overpass by Cornerstone give Lawrence Tech the lead 15-13, which forces the Golden Eagles into a timeout to relax and regroup. 
    ·       Cornerstone comes out of the timeout with a strong double block from Hubert Sliwinski and Andrew Galanes. Narrowing the deficit 16-15. 
    ·       Cornerstone is able to tie the set 18-18 thanks to taking advantage of the Blue Devil's errors.
    ·       David Galanes ties the fourth set 20-20 with another kill. 
    ·       Cornerstone's errors can't escape them, as another attack error gives Lawrence Tech the lead 23-20. 
    ·       Andrew Galanes nets two kills in a row to keep the fourth set alive 22-24, but the fourth and final set ends, as Lawrence Tech get a kill off the block to win 25-22, three sets to one.
