GRAND RAPIDS, Mich. - The Golden Eagle men's basketball program is excited to announce the addition of standout point guard Andres Mora (Andy) to the program starting in 2023-24. Andy, a native of San Jose, Costa Rica, has spent his high school career at Tri-City Christian Academy in Chandler, Arizona where he capped off an outstanding high school career under the direction of Cornerstone men's basketball alum James Brown (1994-98). Andy was about as successful as you can be in high school going 82-3 in his career, leading his team to three DI AZCAA State Titles, while earning three AZCAA Player of the Year honors. He averaged 22.0 points per game, 6.4 rebounds per game, 6.3 assists per game, and 5.4 steals per game over his career, breaking the school record for career assists. He also finished second all-time in Tri-City school history for career points and career assists.
Off the court, Andy was incredibly successful as well boasting a 4.3 GPA and earning Sports360AZ All-Academic honors. Andy is the son of Jimmy and Jenny Mora and he plans to major in Computer Science during his time at Cornerstone.
