WHAC the Rest of the Way
The Golden Eagles have concluded non-conference regular season play for the 2023 campaign and gone an even 5-5 in those contests. Four of the five losses came to NAIA Top 25 or receiving votes programs, while two of the victories came over NAIA receiving votes programs. Cornerstone will now play the final 19 games of their 20 match WHAC schedule, starting with Lourdes and Siena Heights on the road this weekend.

Last Week's Milestones
Cornerstone saw two major milestones accomplished last week in Head Coach Megan Lenhart earning her 100th career win at the helm of the Golden Eagles, and junior setter Aubrey Lenz achieving her 3000th career assist. Lenhart is in the top three in program history in win percentage as a head coach and Lenz is just the seventh athlete in program history to achieve 3000 career assists.

Scouting Lourdes
The Gray Wolves are still in search of their first victory in 2023, going 0-7 to start the year. Lourdes started the year with three heartbreaking five set losses and have won just one set in their last four matches. Offensively, Lourdes is led by Kylee McBride a senior outside hitter who has 79 kills so far this year. LU has seen a lot of errors this year however, as their hitting percentage sits at under .100 through the first seven games.

Scouting Siena Heights
The Saints who were projected to finish second in the WHAC Preseason Poll have gotten off to a rocky start in 2023 with an 8-3, 0-2 conference record. In their first two conference games, Siena Heights was upset by UM-Dearborn and Madonna on the road. The Saints have struggled in true road games, going 1-2 in those contests. A major strength of Siena Heights has been the service line in 2023, as they rank in the top 40 in the NAIA with 2.10 service aces per set. The veteran SHU roster looks to right the ship led by 2021 WHAC Setter of the Year and multiple First Team All-WHAC winner Aubrey Bates.
