History vs. Week's Opponents
Cornerstone has had a rather even history with this week's opponents of late, Going 3-3-0 against Siena since the 2017 season and 3-0-3 against Cleary all-time since 2013. Siena Heights and Cornerstone in recordable school history have gone nearly an even .500 all-time with CU holding a 24-26-9 record.
The Penalty Spot
Cornerstone has scored three of their 10 goals from the penalty spot this season which ranks them 22
nd in the NAIA for penalty kicks and tied for first at a perfect 100% for execution from the spot.
Tyler Corstange is the primary man to take penalties as he leads the team in goals with three and total points with seven.
Scouting the Saints
Siena Heights has gotten off to a solid start in 2023 going 4-3-1, 0-0-1 WHAC on the year. After starting the year 0-2, the Saints won four straight before a loss to Spring Arbor. In their conference opener, SHU tied Northwestern Ohio at home, 1-1. SHU is a very physical team as they have already recorded 28 yellow cards in eight contests, but the offense has come alive scoring 18 total goals. Siena Heights is led by senior midfielder Gaizka Zandio who has four goals and three assists in the 2023 season.
Scouting Cleary
The Cougars have gotten off to a solid start as well going 3-3-2 overall and 0-0-1 in WHAC play with a tie at Rochester. In all three of Cleary's wins they have not allowed a goal while in every loss they have allowed two or more goals. Cleary has seen almost all their offensive production come from one player, as Lesman Morazan ranks 17
th in the NAIA and second in the WHAC.
