Last Week Recap
It was a tale of two halves in last week's 2-2 tie against Saint Xavier. The first half was all defense as both sides did not have any good chances to score. The second half was all offense. Tyler Corstange scored the first goal of the game off a save from the goalie and Saint Xavier would respond with their own goal just six-minutes later. Just four-minutes later, Calvin Curtis would score his first goal of the year on a PK. The Cougars would add a late goal in the 86th minutes off a penalty shot of their own to end the game in a 2-2 tie, moving to 1-0-2 on the young season.

Looking at Calvin
Calvin comes into the contest against the Golden Eagles with a 2-0 record scoring five goals between those two games. Calvin is currently ranked 19th in the DIII coaches pole coming off a second-round loss in the national tournament last season where they finished 17-3-2. One of those ties last year came against the Golden Eagles. This year, they are currently led by fifth-year senior Chris Schau who has scored three goals across the first two games of the year. It will be a tight match between the battle of the CU's.

Looking at Hope
Hope comes into the match against Cornerstone with a current record of 0-0-2, with not scoring a goal this year yet. Hope finished 7-5-6 last season falling in the conference tournament against Calvin. Senior Ethan Jansen has led the teams with shots on goal with four through the first two games of the season as Hope will look to score their first goal of the season against a tough Golden Eagle defense.
