GRAND RAPIDS, Mich. – Women's Basketball returned home for the first time in 2024, and came out with a big win over Rochester 68-60. Cornerstone held Rochester to just six-points in the third quarter where the Golden Eagles saw the momentum swing their way and never looked back.
Olivia Kubik led the way for the Golden Eagles with a game high 21 points as
Stephanie Ainsworth recorded her fourth double-double of the year with 17 points and 13 rebounds. The win moves Cornerstone to 8-6 (6-3) on the year as they remain at home, taking on Aquinas on Saturday, January 13 starting at 1 p.m.

- First Quarter
- Cornerstone and Rochester are tied 6-6 after the first two-minutes of action as Olivia Kubik and Jaylee Long has a three for the Golden Eagles.
- A Mackenzie Stien layup gives Cornerstone an 11-6 lead through the first four-minutes of play.
- Olivia Kubik makes her second three of the game to cap off a 5-0 Cornerstone run to make it an 16-8 lead.
- Rochester answered with a 10-2 run to tie the game, 18-18 with a minute remaining in the first quarter.
- Jaylee Long makes her second three of the game as Cornerstone leads 21-18 after the end of the first.
- Second Quarter
- Rochester opens the second quarter making four-straight three pointers to go on a 12-0 run to take a 30-21 lead over Cornerstone through the first four-minutes.
- Maddison Fulks scored the first basket for the Golden Eagles with a floater down the lane.
- Cornerstone closed the second quarter on a 7-0 run that was highlighted by an Olivia Kubik three pointer that just beat the halftime buzzer.
- Rochester heads into halftime with a 34-32 lead over the Golden Eagles.
- Third Quarter
- Cornerstone opened the third quarter on a 7-0 run thanks to a three from Olivia Kubik and layups from Stephanie Ainsworth and Jaylee Long.
- The Golden Eagles continued to put the pressure on the Warriors, going on another 6-0 run to take a 43-36 lead. Rochester has scored two-points through the first six-minutes.
- The defense of the Golden Eagles held the Warriors to just six-points in the third quarter as Cornerstone headed into the fourth quarter with a 48-40 lead.
- Fourth Quarter
- Cornerstone opened the fourth quarter with a bang thanks to threes from Olivia Kubik and Maddison Fulks that gave Cornerstone a 54-44 lead.
- Stephanie Ainsworth makes back-to-back layups as Cornerstone continued to pull away from the Warriors with 4:26 remaining in the fourth.
- Cornerstone continued to find easy points at the free throw line with Jaylee Long and Maddison Fulks knocking down a pair.
- Rochester would make a late three, but it would not matter as the Golden Eagles would beat Rochester 68-60 in their first home game of 2024.
