Men's Soccer hosts Siena Heights and #RV Aquinas in double match week

GRAND RAPIDS, Mich. – Men's Soccer gears up to host two home matches this week. The Golden Eagles kick off their week against Siena Heights on Wednesday, October 23 before ending the week against #RV Aquinas on Saturday, October 26. Men's Soccer has a record of 5-7-1 (4-5) on the season with three regular season matches remaining.

Last Week Recap 
The Golden Eagles had two matches last week and finished the week 1-1. Cornerstone started off their week against Lawrence Tech on the road. Dani Carrillo scored for the Golden Eagles in the first half of the match, but the defense could not hold up against the Blue Devils who scored two second half goals and took the match 2-1. Cornerstone then took on winless Defiance who have struggled heavily so far this season. It was the same story for the Yellow Jackets as Cornerstone dominated in a 7-1 victory led by Tyler Corstange who recorded a hattrick for the Golden Eagles. 
 
Scouting Siena Heights
Siena Heights comes into the matchup against the Golden Eagles with an overall record of 1-13-2 (0-8-2) on the year, sitting in 12thplace in the conference just ahead of Defiance. The Saints have struggled this season only averaging .50 goals per-game and allowing 2.81 goals per-game. The Saints have been unable to find a victory in their last 12 matches and will have to put up a strong team performance to give the Golden Eagles any trouble.

The Saints are led by Ricardo Rittersberger who has tallied 14 goals on the season and will be a serious threat to the Golden Eagles back line.
