Last Season Recap
Women's basketball finished last year with an overall record of 16-13 in fourth place in the WHAC Standings. They saw improvements all around the board last year as
Stephanie Ainsworth is coming off a season where she averaged 14.5 points and 9.3 rebounds per-game, recording 14 double-doubles.
Olivia Kubik was another player with a career year as she averaged 13.9 points per-game shooting 35% from behind the arc. Losing just one senior from last year, the veteran group of girls are looking to make one last deep run together during the 2024-25 season.
WHAC Outlook
Indiana Tech comes into the season ranked as the #12 team in the nation and tabbed to finish first in the WHAC Standings. Cornerstone is right behind the Warriors as they were tabbed to finish second with Concordia right behind them finishing third to round out the top three teams in conference. Defiance is a newly added team to the WHAC as the conference now holds 13 opponents where some teams only face off against each other just once on the year.
Scouting Spring Arbor
Spring Arbor finished the 2023-24 campaign with an overall record of 24-8, losing to Dordt in the NAIA National Tournament. The Cougars were tabbed to finish fifth in the Crossroads League, thanks to a few key players leaving after the 2023-24 season. The Golden Eagles and Cougars did face off against one another last year that ended in a lopsided victory for Spring Arbor 97-63 on their home court. The Golden Eagles will look to change the outcome this year on Saturday. Spring Arbor returns their top player from last season in Alana Nelson who averaged 18.5 points and 8.6 rebounds per-game on 49.2% shooting who was also named an NAIA All-American for the second straight year as the Crossroads named her All-League First Team in the Preseason Polls.
