Last Week Recap
The Golden Eagles had two matches last week and finished the week 1-1. Cornerstone hosted two matches this week and started off the week against Siena Heights. The Golden Eagles dominated this matchup as
Tyler Corstange completed another brace on the year which gave Cornerstone the 2-0 victory. Cornerstone then took on a much tougher opponent in #RV Aquinas in a physical rivalry matchup. The Saints were able to sneak by with a narrow 1-0 victory thanks to their top goal scorer Ricardo Rittersberger who found the back of the net. The Golden Eagles did not go down without a fight as they controlled most of the ball in the second half and struck the crossbar late in the match with a shot from
Renan Ceccon but ultimately were unable to break through the Saints back line.
WHAC Outlook
Cornerstone currently sits in eighth place in the WHAC conference which just keeps the Golden Eagles season alive as things stand as the top eight teams advance to the post season tournament. The Golden Eagles can secure their spot this week with a victory or tie over Madonna. The WHAC standings will be finalized after all matches have concluded on Wednesday, October 30.
