GRAND RAPIDS, Mich. – Women's Volleyball is back in action this week with two matches first hosting at home then traveling this weekend. Cornerstone will first host WHAC opponent Michigan-Dearborn on Wednesday, October 9 then will be traveling to take on another conference opponent Rochester Christian on Friday, October 11 to finish out their week of play.

Last Week Recap
Women's Volleyball went 2-2 last week and played to five sets in all four of their matches. The week started off slow as they fell 3-2 against Lawrence Tech and then took #9 Indiana Wesleyan to five sets as well but could not pull off the upset. Cornerstone then took on #RV Lindsey Wilson where they found themselves in a 0-2 hole after the first two sets, but the ladies managed to fight back to win in five sets thanks to
Aubrey Johnson and
Gabby VerBerkmoes who both tallied 14 kills. The Golden Eagles faced another tough matchup against #14 Grace College where they won 3-2 with a strong performance from
Aubrey Lenz who had a match high 53 assists in the victory. The Golden Eagles sit at 12-8 (4-4) on the year.
Scouting Michigan-Dearborn
Michigan-Dearborn comes into the match against the Golden Eagles with an overall record of 11-6 on a two-game losing streak to tough conference opponents Lawrence Tech and Aquinas. The Wolverines started off their season with seven consecutive victories but have gone cold since then. Michigan-Dearborn is led by Kielee Tondryk who has 265 kills at a .301 hitting percentage on the season. The Wolverines average 11.87 kills per-set, 14.06 digs per-set, and 1.7 blocks per-set to round out their team stats heading into the conference clash with the Golden Eagles.
Scouting Rochester Christian
Rochester Christian comes into the matchup against the Golden Eagles with an overall record of 7-14. The Warriors have yet to find a victory in conference play with an 0-8 record. The Warriors are led by Mackenzie Keefer who has 255 assists on the season. Michigan-Dearborn is averaging 10.28 kills per-set, 14.46 digs per-set, and 1.92 blocks per-set to round out their defense on the year. Rochester Christian will likely need to put together a strong team performance to find their first conference victory of the season against a hot Cornerstone team.
