MARION, Ind. – Men's Basketball went to battle against #3 Indiana Wesleyan but couldn't achieve the upset as a late Wildcats push saw the Golden Eagles fall 78-72. Cornerstone had control of the game for the first 30-minutes before Indiana Wesleyan found their shooting stroke on their way to a strong second half as they outscored the Golden Eagles 48-36.
Luke Rowlinson led the way for the Golden Eagles as he had a team high 24 points and seven rebounds. There are no breaks yet for men's basketball as they host #8 Grace College for their home opener on Tuesday, November 5 with tipoff at 7:30 p.m.

First Half: Cornerstone – 36 Indiana Wesleyan – 30
- Cornerstone and Indiana Wesleyan traded baskets to start the game as Luke Rowlinson and Eli Steffen had easy buckets to make it 4-4.
- At the first media timeout, Luke Rowlinson finished around the rim that gave the Golden Eagles an early 12-10 lead.
- Back-to-back Toby Woolcock layups and a Luke Rowlinson jumper forced Indiana Wesleyan to call one of their timeouts as the Golden Eagles lead 18-12 with 10:45 to go.
- The Golden Eagles have yet to make a three in a game but that doesn't affect Blake Stewart as he scored four straight to give Cornerstone a 30-22 advantage.
- Cornerstone's defense has continued to stifle the offense of the Wildcats as Eli Steffen makes a pair of free throws to make it 35-25.
- Cornerstone held Indiana Wesleyan to 27.6% from the field but only hold a six-point advantage at the half as it is 36-30. The Golden Eagles are 0-6 from behind the arc.
Second Half: Indiana Wesleyan – 78 Cornerstone – 72
- Luke Rowlinson scored six-straight points to open the second half for the Golden Eagles as they now lead 42-32.
- Connor Dykema hits the first three of the game for the Golden Eagles to highlight a 7-2 Cornerstone run to make it a 49-37 game with 16-minutes to go.
- Indiana Wesleyan has slowly started to chip away at the Golden Eagle lead as it is 53-46 at the 10-minute media timeout. The offense of Cornerstone has started to stall.
- Mason Brooks ended the scoreless streak with a tough jumper in the paint to give Cornerstone a 55-46 lead.
- Indiana Wesleyan has nailed thee-straight threes but the Golden Eagles would answer with baskets of their own but Cornerstones lead is just one, 59-58 with 7:37 to go.
- A 10-2 Indiana Wesleyan run sees them take their largest lead of the game and the half as they now lead 69-61 over the Golden Eagles.
- Luke Rowlinson drilled back-to-back threes for the Golden Eagles to get Cornerstone back into the game as it is 71-68 with just under two-minutes to go.
- A block by Tanner Wiegerink leads to an easy Toby Woolcock layup to make it 71-70 but Griffin Kliewer nails a deep dagger three to make it 74-70.
- The Golden Eagles are unable to complete the upset of Indiana Wesleyan as they fall late to the Wildcats 78-72.
