GRAND RAPIDS, Mich. – Women's Basketball welcomed Rochester Christian to open their conference season and came away with a 74-57 victory. Jaxi Long and Olivia Kubik were unstoppable for women's basketball as they both hit seven threes as Long led the way with a career high 33 points. The Golden Eagles move to 2-5 (1-0) on the year as they hit the road for a matchup against Madonna on Saturday, November 23 at 1 p.m.

Game Recap: Cornerstone – 74 Rochester Christian - 57

First Quarter – Cornerstone – 19 Rochester Christian - 17

• Rochester Christian jumped out to a 5-2 lead through the first two-minutes of the game as the Golden Eagles struggled with turnovers early.
• Jaxi Long drills back-to-back threes that gave Cornerstone an early 8-5 lead. She has all eight Golden Eagle points.
• The Golden Eagles continued to score as another three from Jaxi Long and a layup from Abi Bandstra made it 13-5.
• Rochester has used a nice 8-3 run to cut into the Golden Eagle lead to make it 16-13 with just over one minute to go.
• Jaylee Long made a three right before the first quarter buzzer, but Rochester Christian would drive the length of the court to score a layup to make it 19-17 Cornerstone after the first.

Second Quarter – Cornerstone – 38 Rochester Christian - 31

• The Golden Eagles continued to lead the Warriors 23-19 through the first two-minutes of the second quarter.
• Olivia Kubik would make a long three that made it 26-19 but the Warriors would answer right back with a three of their own to make it 26-22.
• The threes continued to fall for the Golden Eagles as Jaxi Long and Olivia Kubik made back-to-back to give Cornerstone the 32-24 advantage.
• The Warriors continued to stick around as a 7-2 run made it a 35-31 game.
• Olivia Kubik drills a three right before the halftime buzzer that gave the Golden Eagles a 38-31 lead at halftime.

Third Quarter – Cornerstone – 56 Rochester Christian - 46

• The Golden Eagles opened the third quarter on a 5-0 run thanks to a three from Olivia Kubik and layup from Mackenzie Goodwin to make it 43-31.
• Another Olivia Kubik deep three gave the Golden Eagles a 48-35 advantage with under six-minutes to go in the third.
• Jaxi Long drills a corner three as the Golden Eagles have hit 12 threes through the first two and half quarters as they lead 51-37.
• Another three from Jaxi Long made it 56-44 Cornerstone with 1:30 to go.
• Headed into the final quarter, the Golden Eagles lead 56-46.

Fourth Quarter – Cornerstone – 74 Rochester Christian - 57

• Jaxi Long got the offense started to open the fourth with yet another three to make it a 61-49 game through the first two-minutes of the fourth.
• Rochester continued to stick around as back-to-back layups made it 63-53 with six-minutes to go.
• A 7-0 Golden Eagle run saw them achieve their largest lead of the game as it is now 70-53 with three-minutes to go.
• Jaxi Long continued to be a thorn in the side of the Warriors as four straight points from her gave the Golden Eagles a 74-55 lead.
• The Golden Eagles win their first conference game of the year as they take down Rochester Christian 74-57.
