LIVONIA, Mich. – Men's Basketball traveled to Madonna to take on the Crusaders and came away with a big road victory, 79-67. The defense of the Golden Eagles frustrated Madonna all game as they were held to 67 points on 37.5% from the field.
Connor Dykema led the way for Cornerstone with a career high 15 points on three made threes to pace the offense. Men's Basketball improves to 4-3 (2-0) on the year as they will return home to face off against Defiance on Saturday, November 30 with tipoff at 3 p.m.

First Half: Cornerstone – 39 Madonna - 28
- It was a slow start for both teams to start the game, yet Madonna leads 5-0 after the first three-minutes.
- Blake Stewart scored the first points for the Golden Eagles as back-to-back layups made it 5-4.
- At the first media timeout, the Crusaders hold a 10-4 advantage over the Golden Eagles.
- A 9-3 Golden Eagle run highlighted by four Connor Dykema free throws and a Kayden Bird three tied the game at 13 after 10-minutes of the first half.
- Cornerstone and Madonna started to trade baskets, but Tanner Wiegerink would complete the three-point play to give the Golden Eagles a 18-16 advantage.
- Madonna knotted the game at 22 as there are six-minutes to go before halftime.
- A quick 7-2 Golden Eagle run highlighted by a Tanner Wiegerink dunk saw the Golden Eagles take a 29-24 advantage over Madonna.
- A nice pass from Connor Dykema led to an easy layup for Blake Stewart that gave Cornerstone a 33-26 lead.
- Mason Brooks and Kayden Bird drill threes right before halftime but Madonna would get a putback dunk right before the buzzer as the Golden Eagles lead 39-28 at halftime.
- The defense of Cornerstone has held Madonna to 26.5% from the field as Cornerstone shot 46.7%.
Second Half: Cornerstone – 79 Madonna 67
- Madonna opened the second half on a 4-0 run, but Jack Joldersma would calm the storm with a layup to make it 41-32.
- Another 4-0 run by Madonna saw them continue to chip away at the Golden Eagle lead as the first media timeout came around, Cornerstone still leads 43-36.
- Connor Dykema would highlight an 8-3 Golden Eagle run with a three to make it 51-41 Cornerstone. Kayden Bird made a three as Toby Woolcock went coast-to-coast with a layup as well.
- A Madonna run saw it become a 53-48 game, but Connor Dykema would end their momentum with back-to-back top of the key threes to make it 59-48 with 9:00 to go.
- Mason Brooks would drain a three and Luke Rowlinson would follow with a jumper to make it a 10-point, 64-54 Golden Eagle lead with just over six-minutes to go.
- Good ball movement from the Golden Eagles led to an easy Blake Stewart layup to make it 70-56 with 4:40 left.
- The Golden Eagles continued to put the pressure on the Crusaders as four straight Andy Mora points and Blake Stewart free throws made it a 76-63 Golden Eagle lead with 1:30 left in the game.
- Luke Rowlinson would put the final touch on the game with a deep three as the Golden Eagles beat Madonna 79-67.
