Last Week Recap
Conference season started for every WHAC team last week and the Golden Eagles opened 2-0 after two big victories. Men's Basketball hosted #RV Rochester Christian and came away with a close 85-81 victory thanks to a career high 26 points from
Blake Stewart. They would then travel to Madonna on Saturday for a tough road matchup and came away with a 79-67 victory behind
Connor Dykema's career high 15 points. It is the perfect start to the conference season for men's basketball.
Early Season Leaders
Through the first seven games of the year, men's basketball is averaging 76.9 points per-game while shooting 45.6% from the field and holding opponents to 75.1 points on 42.4% shooting.
Luke Rowlinson leads the scoring with 16.6 points per-game with
Blake Stewart (10.7) and
Tanner Wiegerink (10.1) as the other two in double figures.
Jack Joldersma leads the rebounders with 5.5 per-game and
Eli Steffen leads the passing with 20 assists.
Scouting Defiance
Defiance comes into the matchup against the Golden Eagles with an overall record of 3-5 (1-2) on the year. The first year WHAC team won their first conference game last week with a come from behind victory over UNOH 86-80 behind Connor Bush's 33 points.
