#3 Indiana Wesleyan too much as Women's Basketball falls 101-44

GRAND RAPIDS, Mich. – Women's Basketball welcomed a tough #3 Indiana Wesleyan team and battled to the end in a 101-44 loss. The Wildcats came out of the gate aggressive, scoring easy around the rim and causing turnovers in their strong press that saw the lead continue to grow throughout the game. The Golden Eagles didn't back down as they fought all 40-minutes in this one as Olivia Kubik lead the way with a team high 12 points. Women's Basketball will remain at home as they take on Grace on Tuesday, November 12 for a 7 p.m. tipoff.

Game Recap: #3 Indiana Wesleyan – 101 Cornerstone - 44

First Quarter – Indiana Wesleyan – 33 Cornerstone – 11
  • Right off the tip, Mackenzie Goodwin scored to give the Golden Eagles a 2-0 lead.
  • Indiana Wesleyan was aggressive right out of the gate with easy drives and scores as they lead 10-2 over the Golden Eagles.
  • Olivia Kubik and Jaylee Long had easy baskets around the rim to make it a 12-6 game three-minutes into the first quarter.
  • Lilli Frasure from Indiana Wesleyan continued to drive and score as her layup made it a 25-6 Wildcat lead with three minutes to go in the first quarter.
  • Laura Innerebner and Olivia Kubik score back-to-back for the Golden Eagles to make it 30-11.
  • The Wildcats come out of the shoot hot as they lead Cornerstone 33-11 after the first quarter.
Second Quarter – Indiana Wesleyan – 59 Cornerstone – 19
  • Indiana Wesleyan used a two-minute 7-0 run to start the second quarter to take a 40-11 lead.
  • Mackenzie Goodwin and Olivia Kubik end the drought for the Golden Eagles with a layup and a three to make it 45-16 with five-minutes to go in the second.
  • Indiana Wesleyan continued to drive and score as the drive from Jade Nutley led to a three for Koryn Greiwe to make it 51-16.
  • Abby Hall drills a corner three for the Golden Eagles off the pass of Emma Costen as three minutes remain in the second quarter.
  • The Wildcats head into halftime with a 59-19 lead over Cornerstone as they have shot 66.7% from the field compared to Cornerstone's 27.6
Third Quarter – Indiana Wesleyan – 87 Cornerstone – 32
  • After a pair of technical free throws from Olivia Kubik, Indiana Wesleyan used a 10-0 run to extend their led 69-21.
  • Jaxi Long makes back-to-back threes for the Golden Eagles to give Cornerstone a quick 6-3 run.
  • Stephanie Ainsworth scores a bucket down low, and Olivia Kubik makes a free throw to make it 82-32 with 2:30 to go in the third quarter.
  • The game heads into the final quarter as the Wildcats lead 87-32.
Fourth Quarter – Indiana Wesleyan – 101 – Cornerstone – 44
  • The Golden Eagles opened the fourth quarter on a 5-0 run thanks to a bucket from Stephanie Ainsworth and Mackenzie Goodwin.
  • Cornerstone continued to play hard late in the fourth as Abi Bandstra scored six straight points for the Golden Eagles as it is 99-44 with 2:20 to go.
  • Indiana Wesleyan got the best of the Golden Eagles as they win 101-44.
