Grand Rapids, Mich. – Men's Basketball was back in action in Mol Arena for another conference matchup this time against the Cougars. Cleary was no match from the start of this contest as Cornerstone ran away with a 73-46 victory. This victory moves the Golden Eagles to 7-4 (5-1) on the year.
Connor Dykema highlighted this contest with his strong 12 point and 10 rebound double-double performance.
Kayden Bird also shot a perfect 4-4 from the field that allowed for Cornerstone to cruise to the comfortable victory. Men's Basketball will be back in action at home on Friday, December 20 at 1:00 p.m. for a non-conference matchup with Indiana University South Bend.

First Half
- Toby Woolcock opened the scoring in this matchup against the Cougars with a coast-to-coast bucket.
- Mason Brooks knocked down the first three pointer of the game to extend the Cornerstone lead to 7-4 early in the contest.
- Connor Dykema tallied his second bucket of the game off a smooth pass from Toby Woolcock which gave the Golden Eagles a 9-4 lead with 15 minutes left to play in the first half.
- The game started off strong for both defenses as Cleary continued to claw back into the matchup with the score at 9-7 with 11 minutes on the clock.
- The Golden Eagles finally found their offense with a 5-0 run thanks to a Luke Rowlinson layup and Levi Schultz corner three to give Cornerstone the 14-7 lead.
- Cornerstone continued to strike from distance as Andy Mora drained his first bucket of the game from behind the arc with nine minutes left in the half.
- The Golden Eagles doubled the Cougars score with another three-point basket this time from Mason Brooks as Cornerstone led 22-11 with five minutes left on the clock.
- Connor Dykema continued his strong first half performance with another smooth post move to extend the Golden Eagles lead to 29-16 with one minute left on the clock.
- Kayden Bird knocked down another Golden Eagle three as time expired in the first half to give Cornerstone the 32-18 lead at the break.
Second Half
- The second half started with a strong bucket from Blake Stewart which gave the Golden Eagles a 34-18 lead.
- Connor Dykema tallied his 10th point of the contest with a pair of signature free throws as he used the backboard to his advantage.
- Mason Brooks put a pretty shot off the glass to extend the Golden Eagles lead to 38-24 with 16 minutes left in the second half.
- Blake Stewart completed the three-point play after a strong finish at the rim with the foul which gave Cornerstone the 47-28 lead with 13 minutes left on the clock.
- Andy Mora delivered a perfect backdoor cut pass to Blake Stewart which extended the Cornerstone lead to 19 points.
- Kayden Bird found his second three pointer of the game with 12 minutes on the clock as Cornerstone continued to find success from behind the arc.
- Cornerstone knocked down another three pointer thanks to a shifty step back move from Andy Mora that helped extend the Golden Eagles lead to 23 points.
- Mol Arena continued to feel the rain as they poured two more three pointers in thanks to Levi Schultz and Kayden Bird which gave the Golden Eagles a 64-34 lead.
- Cleary went on an 8-0 run which helped the Cougars pull within 21 points in the contest with four minutes left to play.
- Aiden Gortmaker, Tre Seydel, and Sam Koetsier all found baskets late in the game to help cap off the Cornerstone victory.
- The Golden Eagles moved to 5-1 in conference play thanks to the 73-46 victory over Cleary.
