GRAND RAPIDS, Mich. – In a battle of two undefeated conference teams, women's basketball battled it out to an upset victory over #23 Indiana Tech 63-62. This is the first time since 2018 beating Indiana Tech and snapping a 14-game losing streak against the Warriors. Jaxi Long and Olivia Kubik were an unstoppable duo scoring 22 and 20 points as Stephanie Ainsworth for the second straight game wins it for Cornerstone with a big block. The win moves women's basketball to 7-5 (6-0) on the year as they will travel to Chicago to take on #RV Governors State on Saturday, December 28.

Game Recap: Cornerstone – 63 #23 Indiana Tech - 62

First Quarter – Cornerstone – 15 Indiana Tech - 10

• It was a slow start for both teams to open the game as Indiana Tech had a 4-0 advantage through the first three-minutes.
• The Golden Eagles responded with 6-0 run to take a 6-4 lead over Indiana Tech as five minutes remain in the first quarter.
• Olivia Kubik scored once again as the media timeout comes with the Golden Eagles up 8-4 over the Warriors.
• Jaxi Long and Stephanie Ainsworth started another 5-0 run for Cornerstone as they have extended their lead to 13-6 with two to go in the first.
• Cornerstone's defense stepped up to close out the first quarter as they lead Indiana Tech 15-10

Second Quarter – Indiana Tech – 34 Cornerstone - 30

• Olivia Kubik had it to start the second quarter as she scored five straight points to make it a 20-10 Cornerstone advantage.
• Indiana Tech responded with a quick 4-0 to make it 20-14 as the game has continued to be a game of runs through the first 13-minutes.
• Just like that, Cornerstone used a 4-0 run of their own to make it 24-16 after layups from Laura Innerebner and Olivia Kubik.
• Indiana Tech chipped away at the Golden Eagle lead once again as a 6-0 run made it a 24-22 Cornerstone advantage.
• Indiana Tech tied the game at 27 after a step back three as 1:30 remains in the second quarter.
• Taylor Covington continued to be Indiana Tech's spark as she has scored their last eight points to help them retake the lead 32-27.
• Jaxi Long hits a corner three to beat the shot clock buzzer, but Indiana Tech drives the floor and makes a buzzer beater jumper to take a 34-30 lead at halftime.

Third Quarter – Indiana Tech – 51 Cornerstone - 48

• The Golden Eagles opened the second quarter on a 6-2 run to tie the game at 36 after back-to-back layups from Laura Innerebner.
• Cornerstone and Indiana Tech traded threes in just under 10-seconds apart as the game remained tied at 39.
• Right out of the media timeout, Stephanie Ainsworth scored a tough basket to give the Golden Eagles a 43-41 advantage.
• Olivia Kubik gave Cornerstone the lead once again with a three as the game continued to go back and forth.
• Indiana Tech headed into the final quarter with a 51-48 advantage over the Golden Eagles after a 6-2 run to close out the third.

Fourth Quarter – Cornerstone – 63 Indiana Tech - 62

• Jaxi Long tied the game yet again with a three as it is 51-51 with eight minutes to go in the final quarter.
• A quick Indiana Tech 5-0 run sees them take a 56-51 lead over the Golden Eagles.
• Cornerstone responded with a 4-0 run of their own thanks to layups from Olivia Kubik and Stephanie Ainsworth to make it 56-55 with five minutes to go.
• Jaxi Long grabbed the offensive rebound then drained a corner three to give the Golden Eagles a 58-56 lead with 3:30 left in the fourth.
• It continued to be the Jaxi Long show for the Golden Eagles as she completed the three-point play that forced Indiana Tech into a timeout as Cornerstone leads 61-56.
• With 1:29 left, Mackenzie Goodwin makes both of her free throws as the Golden Eagles lead 63-58.
• Indiana Tech hit a contested three to make it a 63-62 Cornerstone advantage as 35 seconds remain in the game.
• The Warriors forced a Golden Eagle turnover and would call a timeout to draw up a play with 27 seconds left.
• The Golden Eagles get a block from Mackenzie Goodwin, but Indiana Tech remained in possession of the ball and called a timeout with nine second left on the clock.
• Stephanie Ainsworth once again gets the game sealing block as the Golden Eagles beat Indiana Tech for the first time since 2018 with a 63-62 victory.
