Men's Basketball dominates from start to finish in a win over UM-Dearborn 104-67

DEARBORN, Mich. – Men's Basketball traveled to Michigan-Dearborn for their fourth conference game of the year, and they picked up right where they left off last Saturday in a 104-67 victory over the Wolverines. It was all Cornerstone from the start as the Golden Eagles shot 67% in the first half that saw them up 27 at halftime and never looked back, shooting 68% for the game. Luke Rowlinson led the Golden Eagles with 16 points as Andy Mora did a little of everything with 12 points, eight rebounds, and six assists. Men's Basketball moves to 6-3 (4-0) on the year as they return home to take on Indiana Tech on Saturday, December 7 for prime conference showdown, starting at 3 p.m.

First Half: Cornerstone – 51 Michigan-Dearborn – 24
  • It was all Golden Eagles to start this one as Toby Woolcock scored six of the first eight points as Cornerstone leads 8-0 after two-minutes.
  • Right out of the Michigan-Dearborn timeout, the Wolverines would go on a 7-0 run to cut into Cornerstone's lead 8-7 but a Tanner Wiegerink layup would end their run.
  • Cornerstone and Michigan-Dearborn continued to trade baskets, but back-to-back Wolverine threes sees them take their first lead of the game 15-14 after five-minutes of play.
  • Out of the media timeout, the Golden Eagles would go on a 7-0 run highlighted by a Connor Dykema dunk and Luke Rowlinson three to retake the lead 21-15.
  • The Golden Eagles continued to pour it on early on the Wolverines as the second media timeout came around, Cornerstone led 30-19.
  • Another big Cornerstone run, this time an 8-0 run sees them take a 38-19 thanks to baskets from four different Golden Eagles.
  • An easy basket for Mason Brooks follow by Tanner Wiegerink completing the three-point play as the Golden Eagles lead 44-19 with three-minutes to go before halftime.
  • It was all Cornerstone in the first half as the Golden Eagles lead big 51-24 at the halfway mark.
  • Cornerstone has shot 67.7% from the field as every player that touched the court, has scored. The Wolverines shot 22.5% as the defense of the Golden Eagles continued to shine.
 
Second Half: Cornerstone – 104 Michigan-Dearborn – 67
  • Blake Stewart and Luke Rowlinson started the offense in the second half with easy baskets as the Golden Eagles lead 58-29.
  • Through the first five-minutes in the second half, the Golden Eagles lead the Wolverines 66-36 after a Connor Dykema layup.
  • Out of the media timeout, the Golden Eagles have gone on a 10-0 run highlighted by four points from Toby Woolcock and threes from Kayden Bird and Andy Mora to make it 76-36.
  • Easy backdoor layups for Kayden Bird and four more points from Luke Rowlinson has the Golden Eagles buzzing as it is 86-43 with nine-minutes to go.
  • Jack Joldersma and Andy Mora knock down their free throws as the Golden Eagles empty their bench as they are up 98-56 with under five to go.
  • Aiden Gortmaker helped the Golden Eagles reach the century mark with a nice pull up jumper as Sam Koetsier knocks down a free throw to make it 101-61.
  • The Golden Eagles go into Wolverine territory and come away with a 104-67 victory to move to 4-0 in conference play.
