GRAND RAPIDS, Mich. – Women's Basketball welcomed the second ranked team in the conference in Concordia and took them down in an exciting 72-67 victory. Both teams battled for all 40-minutes, but the Golden Eagles, behind
Gracie Gortmaker's career high 20 points, came out with the much-needed victory. Big threes from
Olivia Kubik in the fourth and solid free throw shooting from the Golden Eagles was the difference maker down the stretch in this one. Cornerstone moves to 12-9 (10-6) on the season as they travel to Lourdes on Wednesday, February 7.

- First Quarter
- Concordia opened the game on a 4-2 run thanks to a few offensive rebounds and putbacks.
- Cornerstone would answer with a 5-0 run thanks to an old fashioned three-point play from Olivia Kubik to take a 7-4 lead.
- Both teams continued to trade baskets as the Golden Eagles lead 11-10 with three-minutes remaining in the first.
- Abby Long for Concordia continued to make pullup jumpers as the Cardinals lead 15-13 with a minute remaining.
- Emma Costen beats the buzzer as Cornerstone and Concordia are tied 15-15 after the end of the first quarter.
- Second Quarter
- Concordia and Cornerstone traded baskets to start the second quarter as Megan Bennett and Jaylee Long for the Golden Eagles had layups.
- Concordia has used a 4-0 run to take a 23-19 lead over the Golden Eagles.
- Another 5-0 run by the Cardinals sees their lead extend to 28-21 after a three from Abby Long. 4:40 remains in the second quarter.
- Gracie Gortmaker's self 4-0 run brings the game within one, 28-27 with three-minutes remaining in the quarter.
- Another steal and a layup from Gracie Gortmaker gives Cornerstone a 31-30 lead with a minute remaining before halftime.
- Maddison Fulks nails a three and Gracie Gortmaker beats the buzzer with a long floater to end the half on a 5-0 run, leading 36-32 at halftime. Gortmaker leads the way for CU with 12 at the half.
- Third Quarter
- After a Stephanie Ainsworth layup to open the third quarter, Concordia has scored four straight points to make it a 38-36 game.
- Concordia keeps grabbing offensive rebounds and scoring as the game is now tied 42-42 with six-minutes to go in the third.
- Olivia Kubik drives and makes a layup through contact to tie the game 46-46 with just under four minutes to go.
- Emma Costen and Gracie Gortmaker make a pair of free throws that gave Cornerstone a 53-51 lead with just over one-minute remaining in the third.
- Olivia Kubik drills a three with seven seconds remaining in the third to give Cornerstone the 56-53 advantage.
- Fourth Quarter
- Olivia Kubik makes another long three and Jaylee Long finishes with her left land as the Golden Eagles lead 61-57 to get the fourth quarter going.
- Abby Long nails back-to-back threes for Concordia to give them the 63-61 lead with five-minutes to go in the fourth.
- Gracie Gortmaker would answer with a corner three as Cornerstone and Concordia are going back and forth in the fourth quarter, Cornerstone leads 64-63.
- A layup from Stephanie Ainsworth and Maddison Fulks extends Cornerstones lead 68-63 with 2:51 to go in the fourth.
- Stephanie Ainsworth gets the big block on the defensive end and Cornerstone continued to make their free throws down the stretch as they beat Concordia 72-67.
