GRAND RAPIDS, Mich. – Men's Volleyball was back in action with a quick turnaround and took care of business against #RV Judson 3-0 (25-15, 25-13, 25-16). The match started off with both teams going at it back-and-forth, but the Golden Eagles eventually got hot and never looked back, riding the hot hand of
David Galanes throughout the match.
Ernest Broaster continued to be a difference maker when he serves as Cornerstone took advantage of Judson's errors. Cornerstone moves to 2-0 on the season as they welcome Lawrence Tech on Tuesday, February 6 for their conference opener, starting at 7 p.m.

- Set One
- Cornerstone opened the first set on a 4-2 run that was highlighted by a David Galanes service ace.
- The Golden Eagles and Eagles traded points back-and-forth but Cornerstone continues to lead 10-7 after a kill by Joshua Beaumont.
- Judson ties the first set at 12 after using a 3-1 run.
- Cornerstone responds with a 4-0 run that forces Judson to use one of their timeouts after multiple kills from David Galanes. The Golden Eagles lead 16-12.
- The Golden Eagles continue to extend their lead over Judson as Ernest Broaster and Andrew Galanes joined in on the attacking party to give Cornerstone a 21-13 lead.
- Cornerstone finishes the first set strong winning 25-15, outscoring Judson 13-3 down the stretch.
- Set Two
- Judson opened the second set on a nice 4-1 lead thanks to a few errors from the Golden Eagles.
- Cornerstone then rattled off seven straight points to take an 8-4 lead thanks to Ernest Broaster's serving and kills from David Galanes and Andrew Galanes.
- This time, Cornerstone spun off an 8-0 run to take a 16-5 lead over Judson thanks to seven kills and a big block from Joshua Beaumont and Andrew Galanes.
- A David Galanes service ace pushed Cornerstones lead to 21-8 late in the second set.
- Ernest Broaster finished the second set in style with a loud kill to give Cornerstone the 25-13 set two victory.
- Set Three
- The Golden Eagles started the third set on a 4-2 run that was highlighted by a kill from David Galanes.
- Judson would tie the game at seven after a solid blocking effort at the net.
- Cornerstone used a 3-1 run to gain a little breathing room in the third set as they now lead 13-10 after a solo block from Joshua Beaumont.
- Patrick Voloch and Ernest Broaster get back-to-back kills for Cornerstone as that forces Judson to use a timeout as they lead 19-13 late in the third set.
- Joshua Reif gets two kills and David Galanes puts the exclamation point on the game with a kill to complete the sweep over Judson. Cornerstone wins set three 25-16.
