CALDWELL, Ida. – With a chance to make it to the sweet 16 at the final site in Kansas City, Missouri, men's basketball had a tough task ahead of them facing the #3 team in the nation and number one seed in the Liston Pod, the College of Idaho. The Yotes took down the Golden Eagles 74-62 in tough, wild environment. It was a close game through the first 10-minutes, but a 11-0 run by the Yotes was the difference maker in the first half that Cornerstone would never recover from. Cornerstone would cut it seven with around six-minutes to go in the second half but Idaho would respond with a 7-0 run to quiet the Golden Eagles.
Cory Ainsworth went out with a 21-point performance to lead the way for the Golden Eagles. This wraps up the 2023-24 season for men's basketball in which they finished 25-8 and WHAC Tournament Champions.
