GRAND RAPIDS, Mich. – Softball was back in action at home in the remake of last weeks games against Lourdes. The Golden Eagles came ready to play as they swept the Gray Wolves in the double header. Winning game one 9-1 and game two 8-0, both in five innings. Delaney Wilson and Taylor Zwagerman both drove in three runs to lead the offense. This marks Softballs fifth straight win as they move to 13-9 (2-0) on the year as they will travel to IUSB on Friday, March 29 for a nonconference double header starting at 2 p.m.
 
Game One Highlights – Cornerstone – 9 Lourdes – 1

• Alyssa Braam worked around some traffic in the second inning to keep the game scoreless.
• Back-to-back doubles from Lourdes gives then a 1-0 lead in the top of the third as Braam holds them to just one run.
• Anna Griffioen came through for Cornerstone in the bottom of the third, hitting a two run double to give Cornerstone a 2-1 lead after the third inning.
• Taylor Zwagerman and Morgan Jenkins opened the fourth inning with singles for Cornerstone. Delaney Wilson hit a bloop single that would score two to extend the lead 4-1. A double from Sydney Tilma and a single from Jolie Groeneveld made it 6-1 after the fourth inning.
• After two walks in the inning for Cornerstone, Maddy Chatman hit an RBI single to right field to make it 7-1. Alayna Meade and Delaney Wilson came through with RBIs as Cornerstone would run limit Lourdes in five innings, winning 9-1.

 
Game Two Highlights – Cornerstone – 8 Lourdes - 0

• Cornerstone loaded the bases with one out in the bottom of the second on a walk and two singles. The Golden Eagles would score one on an error from Lourdes and then a big double play from the Gray Wolves gets them out of the jam. CU leads 1-0 after two.
• Taylor Zwagerman came through with a two out single that brought home two runners for the Golden Eagles to make it 3-0. Maddy Chatman would follow that up with a double to make it 4-0 after the third inning.
• McKenna Gilde has shut down the bats of the Gray Wolves as she has not allowed a run through four innings in the circle.
• Taylor Zwagerman brought home another run on a bunt single to make it 5-0 Cornerstone in the fifth inning. Maddy Chatman would follow with a single of her own to make it 6-0. Abbey Brower would walk to make it 7-0 and Dylan Holmes would score on a wild pitch to give Cornerstone their second run limit against Lourdes, winning 8-0.
