MELBOURNE, Fla. - After allowing three runs in each of the first two innings of the opener on the annual spring break trip, CU came back strong in the following 12 innings to salvage a split against Mount Mary (S.D.). The 6-2 setback followed by the 4-3 win brings the Golden Eagles' record to 3-3 on the young season. CU will be back in action on Monday for a pair of games against Roosevelt and Keiser, starting at 12:15pm.

Game One Highlights – Mount Marty 6, Cornerstone 2
- The Lancers struck with three runs in the opening of the first as a pair of triples, a walk and wild pitch helped them take the early 3-0 lead
- CU came back with a pair of their own runs in their half of the opening frame as Jolie Groeneveld singled home Anna Griffioen and then Groeneveld was brought home by a Moriah Sprague single
- Mount Marty kept the offensive pressure on in the second putting a pair of runners on after two outs but a CU error allowed both runs to score - MM would tack on one more unearned run to take a 6-2 lead
- CU would put two runners on in their half of the 4th but a great defensive play on a line drive from Taylor Zwagerman kept the score at 6-2
- Cornerstone would again threaten in the bottom of the 5th as they loaded the bases with one out but back to back fielder's choices ended the rally attempt
- Allie Lubben came on in relief of Alyssa Braam and held the Lancers scoreless over the final four innings including escaping a big jam in the top of the final frame
- CU was unable to bring home any additional runs as they left a total of 10 on base in the 6-2 setback

Game Two Highlights – Cornerstone 4, Mount Marty 3
- Cornerstone, the away team on the scoreboard, struck first with an RBI from Dylan Holmes to score Griffioen to put the Eagles up 1-0
- The Lancers came back in the second inning thanks to free passes as four walks allowed one run to score to knot it at 1-1
- CU would then load the bases in their half of the 5th with nobody out. After a pitching change, the Eagles mustered just one run thanks to a sac fly from Dylan Holmes as they left two on base
- Sydney Tilma came on in relief of starter McKenna Gilde after she went four innings allowing just one run. Tilma then got out of a little jam in the bottom of the 5th as she posted a K with runners at 2nd and 3rd
- Cornerstone would threaten in the top of the 6th but could not come up with the big hit as they left two more runners stranded
- After a leadoff walk to Groeneveld in the 7th, the senior speedster came home on a perfectly executed sac bunt by Allie Lubben
- Morgan Jenkins then singled home Moriah Sprague for a 3-run CU cushion heading into the final half inning
- McKenna Gilde came back into the game to close out the win for CU
