OUNT VERNON, Ohio. – The (RV) Golden Eagles (19-4) faced up against fourth in the WHAC (RV) Mount Vernon Nazarene University (14-8) within the Ariel Arena in Mount Vernon, Ohio. Ernest Broaster highlighted set one with 7 kills of his own. The Golden Eagles won set one 25-21. Set two was a David Galanes show as he recorded 9 kills in set two, which saw Cornerstone take the set 25-21. A 6-0 run from the Golden Eagles was what set them apart from the Cougars in set three, as Cornerstone won 25-20, and swept Mount Vernon Nazarene inside the Cougars' own arena. Up next for Cornerstone University, the Golden Eagles will end the weekend before WHAC tournament play against the (RV) Mount Vernon Cougars for the second time in one weekend, Saturday April 13, at 3 p.m.

Set 1

• The match begins with a service error from Cornerstone to give Mount Vernon the first point of the match.
• David Galanes grabs his first kill of the night and the first point for the Golden Eagles, the set is tied 1-1.
• Patrick Voloch solo blocks the Cougar attack to tie the set up 5-5.
• Ernest Broaster grabs two kills to keep the set tied 8-8 early on in the first set.
• The big block and a kill from Andrew Galanes give Cornerstone their first two leads of the night, first 10-9 and then 11-10.
• Two kills from Ernest Broaster keep the Golden Eagles ahead by three points 17-14.
• Hubert Sliwinski and Ernest Broaster get the block to stay up in set one 22-19.
• The service ace from Hubert Sliwinski brings it to the set point for Cornerstone 24-20.

Set 2

• The second set gets begins on an uncontested kill by Andrew Galanes, who puts Cornerstone up 1-0.
• David Galanes puts a kill away and shoves the overpass into the court to give Cornerstone a 3-0 lead early on.
• Ethan Walker blocks the Cougar backrow attack to keep the Golden Eagles ahead 6-4.
• David Galanes blocks twice in a row and sees success in the second attempt to extend Cornerstone's lead 9-5 in set two.
• Another kill from David Galanes puts Cornerstone a lead that doubles their opponents' points. The Golden Eagles lead 12-6.
• David Galanes ties the set back up 15-15, after Mount Vernon Nazarene took the lead for the first time in set two.
• The middle attack from Hubert Sliwinski keeps Cornerstone ahead in set two 20-18.

Set 3

• The Cougars gets the third set going with a kill off of the block to go up 1-0 early on.

• Mount Vernon Nazarene is off to a strong start with a 3-0 run that put them up 7-4.
• A few errors by the Cougars and a kill from David Galanes saw Cornerstone to their own 3-0 run, bringing them back within reach. The Golden Eagles are still behind 9-8.
• A Mount Vernon Nazarene attack error ties set three 13-13.
• A another kill from Ernest Broaster ties the set once again 16-16.
• Kills from David Galanes and Ernest Broaster, along with a few errors from the Cougars puts the Golden Eagles on a 6-0 run late in set three. Cornerstone now lead 22-18.
• The triple block by David Galanes, Ethan Walker, and Andrew Galanes bring Cornerstone to the match point in set three 24-19.
• A massive kill from David Galanes ends the set 25-20, and the game 3-0.
