GRAND RAPIDS, Mich. – After 24 years and over 400 games, Randy Strawser is ready to step down. Strawser announced his plans to retire as the head coach of the Cornerstone's women's soccer team at the end of the 2023-24 school year.

Starting as the Sports Information Director (SID) and women's soccer coach in 2000, Randy has led his team to 17 seasons of above .500 play on his way to 232 career wins and two conference championships.

"I have been blessed with coaching so many wonderful players over the years and have formed some lifelong friendships through Cornerstone and the women's soccer program. I was very fortunate to be able to get a collegiate coaching job right out of graduate school. It has taken me from North Carolina to California and finishing in Michigan over the past 24 years.  I have so many great memories that come from the game of soccer and coaching over the years.  I am truly blessed by the people and the game through my life."

Randy was named Coach of the Year three times during his tenure and Coach of Character seven times as he left a lasting impact on the staff and players at Cornerstone.

"Randy has been a staple in the Cornerstone community for the last 24 years and we are forever grateful of the impact he has not only on the soccer program but the students and faculty and staff, said Director of Athletics, Aaron Sagraves. He poured his heart into the young women that were a part of the rich success of Golden Eagle soccer and he helped so many with their walk with Jesus, their academic achievement and athletic success. He has had a major impact on my life and am thankful to have learned under him as a student and then serve alongside him as a staff member."

The longest tenured women's soccer coach is ready for his next steps in life, teaching pickleball.

Thank you for all that you have done for Cornerstone the past 24 years, enjoy your retirement and next stage in life.
