SHEPHERD, Mich. – Men's and Women's Cross Country competed in the 39
th annual Jeff Drenth Memorial hosted by Central Michigan for a 5,000m race. The women's side finished in fifth as the men finished in sixth as they continue to gear up for more races this fall. The Golden Eagle will compete in a few weeks as they will race in the Warrior Challenge hosted by Wayne State on Friday, September 13.
Men's Results
The men opened their season with a 5K and finished first among the NAIA schools by finishing sixth in the competition. The Golden Eagles saw two times under 16 as they were led by
Jamin Thompson and
Chase Holwerda. They also saw seven more under 17 as their combined time for the day was 1:19:58.

Women's Results
The women also opened their season with a 5K and finished in 5
th place, the best time of any non-division one school. The Golden Eagles were led by
Emma Moore with a sub-19 time as Cornerstone saw six others under sub-20. They had a combined time of 1:37:01 for the day.
