Women's Volleyball returns to conference play with matchups against Indiana Tech and UNOH

GRAND RAPIDS, Mich. – Women's Volleyball returns to conference play with matchups against Indiana Tech and UNOH. The Golden Eagles first face off against Indiana Tech on Friday, September 13 before facing UNOH on Saturday, September 14 to round out their week of matches.

Last Week Recap
The Golden Eagles had a busy week last week with four matches and going 3-1. Women's volleyball opened conference play on a high note with a 3-0 sweep of Michigan-Dearborn behind Aubrey Johnson's 15 kills. They would then return home for the AQ/CU Invitational and opened the tournament with a 3-2 loss to St. Francis in which Aubrey Lenz surpassed 4,000 career assists. The next day they would come out victorious with two 3-0 sweeps to go 3-1 week to improve their record to 7-3.
 
Lenz's Milestones and Honors
Aubrey Lenz surpassed two big milestones last week where she recorded her 4,000th career assist making her the fourth women's volleyball player to achieve 4,000 assists. She would later also surpass 1,000 career digs. In doing so, she was named WHAC Setter of the Week where she tallied 167 assists on the week at 11.85 assists per-set. She was then named NAIA Setter of the Week, making her the first Golden Eagle since 2018 to achieve national recognition.
 
Scouting Indiana Tech
Indiana Tech comes into the matchup against the Golden Eagles with a 7-6 (1-0) record. They have certainly found their stride as the Warriors started the season 0-6 and have now won their last seven matches and are currently 6-0 on their home court. The #2 ranked preseason WHAC Team is averaging 12.2 kills per-set at a .215 hitting percentage. They are also averaging 15.8 digs and 1.6 blocks per-set. They are currently led by Noelle VanOort and her 172 kills on the year.
 
Scouting UNOH
UNOH comes into the matchup against the Golden Eagles with an overall record of 7-8 coming off a 3-1 loss to Concordia to open conference play. They play three matches before CU this weekend as they are averaging 11.63 kills per-set at a hitting percentage of .154. They are also averaging 15.2 digs and 1.96 blocks per-set. They are being led by Gianna San Filippo and her 170 kills on the year.
