DEARBORN HEIGHTS, Mich. – Women's Soccer traveled to the east side of Michigan to take on Michigan-Dearborn and found their offensive touch in a 4-2 victory. The aggressive Golden Eagle nature paid off as Tori Woodwyk led the way with two goals as Gracie Gortmaker would record an assist on every goal. The win moves Cornerstone to 4-2-2 (2-0-1) on the year as they return home to face off against Cleary on Saturday, September 28.
 
Game Recap – Cornerstone – 4 Michigan-Dearborn - 2
 
First Half:

• The first opportunity of the game belonged to Michigan-Dearborn as their shot sailed high over the goal in the first minute.
• Cornerstone's first opportunity came in the fourth minute as the Golden Eagles had a corner kick but the header from Tori Woodwyk was saved by the UMD keeper.
• The Golden Eagles maintained their aggression as their shots continued to sail just off target.
• Tori Woodwyk finally puts a Cornerstone shot into the back of the net as she scored in the 18^th minute off the pass of Gracie Gortmaker to make it a 1-0 Golden Eagle lead.
• Cornerstone extended their lead in the 36^th minute as the shot from Myra Hunt finds the back of the net thanks to another assist from Gracie Gortmaker to make it 2-0.
• Right before the half, Michigan-Dearborn finds the back of the net to make it 2-1 in the 45^th minute.
• Cornerstone heads into the half with a 2-1 lead thanks to goals from Tori Woodwyk and Myra Hunt.

Second Half:

• The Golden Eagles had back-to-back corner kick opportunities in the 47^th minute but the Wolverine defense stopped any Cornerstone chance.
• After a few more corners, Cornerstone finally breaks through.In the 56^th minute, Alaina Kregel finds the back of the net to make it 3-1 thanks to another assist from Gracie Gortmaker.
• One minute and five seconds later, Gracie Gortmaker records her fourth assist as Tori Woodwyk finds the back of the net for her second goal of the game to make it 4-1 Cornerstone.
• In the 61^st minute, the Golden Eagles would foul in the box as Michigan-Dearborn would have a chance to score on a penalty kick but their shot sails wide as Cornerstone dodges a scary situation.
• Another foul in the box results in this PK attempt by Michigan-Dearborn to be successful as it is now 4-2 in the 70^th minute.
• Cornerstone continued to stay aggressive as a shot in the 78^th minute was saved by the Wolverine keeper.
• Cornerstone would hold off any last chance shot attempts from Michigan-Dearborn to take the game 4-2.
