Box Score Sylvania, Ohio. – Men's Soccer (4-6) traveled with Women's Soccer down to Lourdes University to take on the sixth in conference Gray Wolves inside of the Wildcat Stadium. The first half was busy for both teams, with Cornerstone having seven shots taken, four of them on goal, while Lourdes University had similar eight shots with four of them on goal as well. The scoring would happen first for the Golden Eagles in the 68th minute with a goal from the freshman Isaac Wood. Crucial saves from Roberto Gutierrez would see Cornerstone out to a WHAC win against Lourdes University 1-0. The Golden Eagles will travel to Southfield, Mich. to take on Lawrence Tech on October 15th, at 7 p.m. inside of the Blue Devils Stadium.

The first shot of the match came in the seventh minute of play from the Gray Wolves, denied by the hands of Roberto Gutierrez, who would follow that up with another save in the tenth minute of play.

Cornerstone had five different shots within five minutes of each other, three of them on goal forcing three saves from Lourdes' goalkeeper.

Gavan Bignall forced another save from the goalkeeper in the 44th minute right before the end of half one. Which would finish with both teams still goalless 0-0.
Second Half:

The second half got underway quickly with a close call in the 48th minute, the shot was blocked by Cornerstone's defense to keep it 0-0.

Eli Leegwater took his chance on goal in the 58th minute of play, testing the keeper. The game remained tied 0-0.

In the 61st minute, Isaac Wood made his way back onto the field as a substitute, and seven minutes later put the ball into the back of the net to put Cornerstone up 1-0 in the second half.

The 83rd minute saw a big opportunity for the Gray Wolves, as they were through on goal up against only Roberto Gutierrez. The Cornerstone goalkeeper would make a big save to retain the lead for the Golden Eagles with limited time left on the clock.
