Grand Rapids, Mich. – Women's Soccer went head-to-head with WHAC opponent Lawrence Tech for a cool fall battle under the lights.
Cate Anhalt was the hero in the match as she finished off a chaotic move from the Golden Eagles to score the lone goal of the match. Cornerstone will look to build from this performance on Saturday, October 18
th at 4:00 p.m. as they celebrate Senior Night.

First Half:
- Corinne McGlassion was called into action early in the match in the 5th minute as she made the first save of the contest.
- Audrey Johnson went to work next for the Golden Eagles as she forced another save but the match remained at 0-0 early.
- The first half continued back and forth as each team looked to secure the opener in a competitive WHAC matchup.
- The Golden Eagles caused havoc on a corner kick as multiple shots were saved until Cate Anhalt put the final touches on as strong into the bottom left corner of the goal in the 44th minute of the match.
Second Half:
- The second half started well for Cornerstone as they battled in the offensive third of the Blue Devils, but Kaitlynn Sal saw her golden opportunity sail just too high.
- Lawrence Tech responded well with pressure of their own that was supplied up the left side of the pitch.
- The Blue Devils found three consecutive shots in the 60th minute but Cornerstone saw their backline hold strong.
- Madeline Billings crossed a perfect ball across the six-yard box, but Audrey Johnson saw her shot just cruise above the cross bar in the 64th minute with the score stuck at 1-0 in favor of the Golden Eagles.
- The Golden Eagles continued to play the time-wasting game, but it was risky as Lawrence Tech saw three golden opportunities to finish the match but they all fell shy of breaking through.
- Cornerstone secured a much-needed victory over the Blue Devils as they move to 3-9-2 on the season.
