Grand Rapids, Mich. – Women's Soccer was nothing shy of electric on their Senior Night against Defiance College. The Golden Eagles scored within the first five minutes of the match and never looked back as they won 6-0.
Gracie Gortmaker highlighted the day with a brace for the Golden Eagles. Cornerstone will be back in action on Wednesday, October 22
nd at 7:30 p.m. against Michigan-Dearborn.

First Half:
- The Golden Eagles took advantage of some chaos in the box to open the goals early in this match as Jada VanNoord snatched the lead in the 2nd minute.
- Cornerstone continued the flurry of shots and pressure as Brooke Harmsen rifled a shot into the far-right corner from distance to secure a 2-0 lead in the 10th minute of the match.
- The offensive pressure could not be slowed down as Gracie Gortmaker made the most of her chance to score the third goal of the first half for Cornerstone in the first 21 minutes.
- The Golden Eagles finished the first half with a 3-0 advantage and tallied 28 total shots in the period.
Second Half:
- Cornerstone came out flying in the second half with a goal within the first two minutes this time from Ellie Schenkelberger to truly secure a dominant match for the home team.
- In the 55th minute of the match Gracie Gortmaker was supplied a perfect pass from Kaitlynn Sal to add her second goal of the game for the Golden Eagles.
- Karsyn Hostetler scored once again for the Golden Eagles as the lead was now 6-0 over the Yellow Jackets.
- Gracie Gortmaker and Madeline Billings supplied the pressure late, but no more blood was drawn for the Golden Eagles as they closed out a commanding 6-0 victory.
