Box Score Dearborn, Mich. – Men's Soccer traveled across the state to take on Michigan-Dearborn in a pivotal late season matchup. The Golden Eagles came away with all the points to boost them forward in the WHAC conference.
Tyler Corstange added his name to the all-time goal scoring list at number eight all time with 31 career goals. Cornerstone now turns their attention to #RV Madonna as they kickoff at 4:00 p.m. on Saturday, October 25
th to close out the regular season play.

First Half:
- Ethan Hehl came out of the gates flying as he forced the first safe of the match within the two-minute mark.
- The Golden Eagles struck first through Isaac Wood with a free header in the box from a Gavan Bignall perfect in swinging free kick in the 7th minute of the match to take the early lead.
- Cornerstone continued to lead with pressure from the front line as Calvin Curtis and Tyler Corstange both saw opportunities, but the match stayed at 1-0 through the first 20 minutes.
- The Golden Eagles nearly found their second goal of the night in the 25th minute, but Calvin Curtis saw his saved.
- Ethan Hehl found his opportunity once again in this match and in the 26th minute he took advantage to help double the Golden Eagles first half advantage.
- Eli Leegwater earned a yellow card in the 35th minute off a high boot that looked to make significant contact with the opposing player.
- The Golden Eagles closed out the impressive half with a 2-0 advantage over Michigan-Dearborn.
Second Half:
- Cornerstone started on the front foot in the second half with back-to-back Gavan Bignall corner kicks, but neither were able to create any strong goal scoring chances.
- Michigan-Dearborn responded well when their opportunity came as they brought the match back to 2-1 with everything to play for in the final 30 minutes.
- The Wolverines continued to supply the pressure with a pair of corner kicks, but the score remained at 2-1 in favor of the Golden Eagles.
- The Golden found the front foot once again in this match as they tallied a flurry of shots in the 76th minute but they were unable to extend their lead.
- The heavy pressure continued for the Golden Eagles who saw Gavan Bignall hit the post off a strong header that nearly saw Cornerstone net their third goal of the match.
- Gavan Bignall provided his second assist of the match this time to Tyler Corstange as the Golden Eagles put the stamp on a 3-1 victory in the 87th minute.
- Cornerstone secured a crucial three points in this pivotal late season WHAC matchup with this comfortable win.
