Livonia, Mich. – Women's soccer made their way over to Livonia, Mich. to take on the Crusaders of Madonna University who started the match as fourth in the WHAC. The Golden Eagles got to scoring in the first half with a 20th minute goal by senior Karsyn Hostetler to put Cornerstone up 1-0 in the first half. The second half would prove to be a battle for either side, but Cornerstone were able to add to their lead in the 57th minute with a goal scored by Gracie Gortmaker to give Cornerstone a strong 2-0 lead in the second half. The Crusaders were unable to get back into the match, as Corinne McGlassion performed well for Cornerstone with 5 total saves to keep Cornerstone flying ahead of Madonna University, two of those saves were in the 89th minute of the match. The Golden Eagles look ahead to the WHAC Tournament as they have managed to grab the sixth spot in conference and therefore the sixth seed in the WHAC tournament. The quarterfinals of the tournament will take place on Saturday, November 1st, time and location TBD.

It was on their first shot of the match that Cornerstone found a way onto the scoreboard first for either team with a goal scored by senior Karsyn Hostetler in the 20th minute of play.

The Golden Eagles faced four shots within five minutes of scoring their goal, but held strong to keep the score 1-0 in the first half.

Corinne McGlassion made a big save near the end of the first half during the 42nd minute to maintain Cornerstone's one goal lead.

Brooke Harmsen managed to get a shot off in the 48th minute of play, but the shot was blocked by a Madonna defender to keep the score 1-0.

The Golden Eagles were able to extend their lead 2-0 with a 57th minute goal scored by Gracie Gortmaker.

Two rapid fire shots by the Crusaders followed the goal but both shots went wide to leave the score the same 2-0.

Gracie Gortmaker's shot in the 68th minute is blocked to deny another goal scoring opportunity for the Golden Eagles. The score remained 2-0 in Cornerstone's favor.

Another shot in the 73rd minute by Gracie Gortmaker forced a save out of Madonna's goalkeeper, just over 15 minutes left to play in the contest.

Two 89th minute saves by Corinne McGlassion kept the score the same 2-0 as Cornerstone could take the victory on the road against the Crusaders.
