Grand Rapids, Mich. – Women's Basketball struggled against #10 Indiana Wesleyan inside of the Mol Arena. The Wildcats held the lead at halftime 50-23, as only three Cornerstone players were able to find the basket in the first half of play. The second half was a similar story as Cornerstone only shot 32.7% from the field as Indiana Wesleyan took home the victory 85-51 over the Golden Eagles. The Golden Eagles will continue non-conference play with a local matchup at Grace Christian University on November 14th at 5:30 p.m.

First Quarter

Jaxi Long was wide open to sink her first three-pointer of the night to put Cornerstone up 6-4 at the start of the first quarter.

The Wildcats went on a ten point run to take the lead 17-6 in the first quarter of play.

A layup by Jaxi Long with minimal time left in the first quarter cut the Wildcat lead to just 16 as Indiana Wesleyan led 28-12.

The first quarter ended with the Wildcats on top 28-14 over the Golden Eagles.

Second Quarter

Abby Hall broke the silence for Cornerstone with a three-pointer of her own to make it 30-17, the Golden Eagles still trailed in the second quarter.

The Wildcats still held a 20 point lead in the second quarter as Cornerstone's offense struggled to find the basket. Indiana Wesleyan led 43-23.

With only 47 seconds left in the first half, Cornerstone were unable to convert and Indiana Wesleyan had the lead 50-23 at the end of the second quarter of play.

Third Quarter

Maddie Schuur made her three to keep Cornerstone in the contest. The Golden Eagles were still behind 54-28 in the third quarter.

As the Wildcats went up by more than 30 points 59-28, you could feel the frustration mounting on the Cornerstone team.

Another three from Maddie Schuur cut the deficit back to 30 as Cornerstone still trailed 61-31.

Abby Hall made another three with just over two minutes left to play in the third quarter. The Wildcats were still up 63-34.

The third quarter of play would end with Indiana Wesleyan still ahead by 30, 65-36.

Fourth Quarter

A mountain to climb in the final quarter is what Cornerstone had ahead of them. The Wildcats opened up the fourth quarter with a couple good free throws to make it 67-36.

A layup and a successful free throw by Julie Ashbaugh seemed to have brought some energy back to Cornerstone, but still the Wildcats held a commanding lead 70-39.

Indiana Wesleyan made their eighth three of the night to make it 76-43 in the fourth quarter.

The final quarter came to its close with Indiana Wesleyan on top 85-51.
By the Numbers
91.7 – Cornerstone went 11-12 from the free throw line, shooting 91.7% at the charity line.
11/6 – Julie Ashbaugh led her team in total points, as she tallied 11 points and had the most rebounds as well at 6 on the night.
9/100% – Maddie Schuur went 3-3 from the arch as she went 100% on three-pointers against Indiana Wesleyan.
