Grand Rapids, Mich. – Men's Volleyball added another sweep victory to their season with a win over Mount Vernon Nazarene. The Golden Eagles debuted their new #6 ranking well as
Ernest Broaster led the way with 12 kills and seven service aces.
Ethan Walker also tallied five blocks in the match for Cornerstone. The Golden Eagles have a quick turnaround as they take on #RV Indiana Tech on Saturday, February 22 at 3:00 p.m.

First Set: Cornerstone – 25 Mount Vernon Nazarene – 11
- The first set started with errors for both teams as the Cougars led 3-2 early.
- Patrick Voloch and Ethan Walker went up high to block Mount Vernon and begin to turn the tide toward for the home squad.
- Ernest Broaster began to heat up with his first kill of the contest on a massive swing to make it 11-6.
- Andrew Galanes and Hubert Sliwinski tallied kills for the Golden Eagles as they continued to cruise in the first set up 14-9.
- The Golden Eagles found two more kills from Ernest Broaster inch them closer to the first set victory.
- The Cougars began to hurt themselves with four attacking errors in a row that gave Cornerstone a 20-11 lead.
- Ernest Broaster led the Golden Eagles to a 25-11 first set win after leading with 7 kills.
Second Set: Cornerstone – 25 Mount Vernon Nazarene – 10
- David Galanes got the Golden Eagles rolling with back-to-back kills to start the second set.
- Andrew Galanes decided to follow his older brother and add two more kills for the Golden Eagles as they led 7-3.
- The Golden Eagles forced Mount Vernon into their first timeout of the second set thanks to a strong service ace from Ernest Broaster.
- Ernest Broaster refused to quit as he added four more service aces with the Golden Eagles leading 16-5.
- Too many errors added up for the Cougars as the Golden Eagles cruised to their second set victory of the match.
Third Set: Cornerstone – 25 Mount Vernon Nazarene – 16
- The third set started with a smooth Hunter DeYoung kill for the Golden Eagles.
- The Cougars showed some spirit to start the third set as they led 5-3 early.
- Brunno Peres and Ernest Broaster put together monster kills to flip the script on Mount Vernon and take a 6-5 lead.
- The Ernest Broaster show continued for Cornerstone as he added two more service aces for the Golden Eagles as they led 13-7.
- Cornerstone saw Brunno Peres go up high for a massive kill with the Golden Eagles in full control of the match.
- Mitchell Carrera found a strong serve hit the floor with the Golden Eagles ahead 18-11.
- Patrick Voloch capped off the sweep with a smooth fake set to finish off the Cougars 25-16.
