Men's Volleyball extends their sweep streak after a 3-0 victory over #RV Indiana Tech

GRAND RAPIDS, Mich. – Men's Volleyball faced off against Indiana Tech and came away with a big sweep 3-0. The Golden Eagles did a little bit of everything in the victory over the Warriors as they out aced them 10-3, blocks 7-4, and kills 35-28. Ernest Broaster led the way with 12 kills and six aces as David Galanes was right behind him with 11. The Golden Eagles improve to 11-1 (3-1) on the season as they will travel to Bethel for a conference matchup on Tuesday, February 25 for a start time of 5 p.m.

First Set: Cornerstone – 25 Indiana Tech - 14
  • Cornerstone jumped out to a quick 5-1 lead thanks to three service aces from Ernest Broaster.
  • The run continued for Ernest Broaster as two more service aces made it a 9-1 game.
  • It continued to be all Cornerstone in the first set as a kill from David Galanes made it a 15-4 Golden Eagle lead.
  • Indiana Tech has continued to trade points with the Golden Eagles as a Cornerstone error made it a 19-11 game.
  • Back-to-back kills from David Galanes made it 22-13 Cornerstone late on the first set.
  • Kills from Joshua Beaumont and Ernest Broaster put the final touches in the first set as the Goden Eagles won 25-14
 
Second Set: Cornerstone – 25 Indiana Tech - 22
  • Cornerstone opened the second set on a 3-2 run thanks to a kill from Andrew Galanes.
  • A kill from Ernest Broaster was then followed by a Brunno Perese service ace to help the Golden Eagles take a 9-5 lead.
  • It continued to be a close match in the second set as a kill from Joshua Beaumont made it 14-10 Cornerstone.
  • Kills from Andrew Galanes and David Galanes made it a 19-15 Golden Eagle advantage late in the second set.
  • Indiana Tech has used a quick 3-0 run to cut into Cornerstone's lead 19-18 as the Golden Eagles call a timeout to regroup.
  • The Golden Eagles responded with a 3-0 run of their own as it was highlighted by a service ace from Kyi Jagorin and a kill from David Galanes.
  • The run continued for the Golden Eagles as they now lead 24-18 after a kill and block from Joshua Beaumont.
  • Cornerstone hasn't been able to put away Indiana Tech as a 4-0 run from the Warriors forced the Golden Eagles into a timeout as it is now 24-22.
  • Ernest Broaster brought the boom with the final kill of the second set as the Golden Eagles took it 25-22.
 
Third Set: Cornerstone – 25 Indiana Tech - 18
  • Indiana Tech jumped out to quick 3-2 lead thanks to a couple kills.
  • Ernest Broaster recorded a kill to help the Golden Eagles extend their lead 9-7.
  • Indiana Tech has found back-to-back kills to make it a one-point game as the Golden Eagles lead 13-12.
  • Kills from Ernest Broaster helped the Golden Eagles take a 16-12 advantage.
  • Another kill from Ernest Broaster and then a block from Ethan Walker and Andrew Galanes forced Indiana Tech into a timeout as they lead 20-15.
  • The Golden Eagles took care of business down the stretch as they beat Indiana Tech 25-18 after a David Galanes kill.
