Postseason Play starts with Men's Basketball hosting Rochester Christian

GRAND RAPIDS, Mich. – Men's Basketball starts postseason play on Thursday, February 27 as they take on Rochester Christian at home starting at 7 p.m. The Golden Eagles tied for second in the WHAC but due to tiebreakers, they are the three seed in the conference tournament. On the season, men's basketball is 19-9 as they look to win their second straight conference tournament championship and a bid into the NAIA National Tournament

Last Week Recap
Men's Basketball finished the regular season going 1-1 and tying for second in the conference. The Golden Eagles opened the week with an 89-67 victory over Aquinas as they honored their nine seniors before the game. They would then travel to Indiana Tech as a win would solidify a sole position of second seed in the WHAC Tournament, but they would come away with a tough 87-72 loss to finish the year at 19-9 and finish tied for second with Lourdes.

The Quarterfinal Round begins on Thursday, February 27 as the top four seeds in the conference host games. Cornerstone faces off against Rochester Christian and will await the winner of Lourdes/UNOH if the Golden Eagles win the Quarterfinal Round. Indiana Tech will try and protect home court all tournament as they won the regular season with a conference record of 18-2.
 
Three teams outside of Indiana Tech have an opportunity to make the NAIA National Tournament. Those teams are Cornerstone, Lourdes, and Madonna as they will look to lock in that bid during postseason play.
 
Scouting Rochester Christian
Rochester Christian comes into the matchup against the Golden Eagles with an overall record of 19-9, facing off the Golden Eagles for the third time this year. The Warriors struggled down the stretch as they lost to top teams Madonna and Lourdes while beating Cleary and Defiance. Cornerstone took care of business in their first two matchups of the year 85-81 at home and 94-81 at their place. Expect the offense of both teams to show up as both teams have not scored under 80 against one another all year. Rochester is averaging 79.9 points per-game on 46.2% shooting from the field. They are allowing 75.1 points per-game on 42.4% shooting. They are led by Brett White and his 21 points per-game.
