Defiance, Ohio – Women's Basketball travelled across the Midwest for a battle with Defiance that was over quickly as the Golden Eagles ran away with a 71-33 victory.
Julie Ashbaugh capped off the win with a career high 15 points and 8 rebounds for Cornerstone.
Olivia Kubik continued to cruise with 14 points as
Mackenzie Goodwin also scored 10 points to highlight the victory. Cornerstone improves to 12-12 (11-5) on the year as they prep for their next battle against Lawrence Tech on Wednesday, February 12 at 5:30 p.m. in Mol Arena.

- First Quarter
- The start of the game belonged to the Yellow Jackets as they found two quick baskets to take an early 4-0 lead.
- Olivia Kubik knocked down the first shot of the contest for the Golden Eagles with a deep three pointer.
- Mackenzie Goodwin used her strength and scored back-to-back layups for Cornerstone to flip the game and take a 7-4 lead with six minutes left to play in the first quarter.
- Jaxi Long added to the Cornerstone lead with a smooth drive on the next possession for her first bucket of the game.
- Maddie Schuur and Stephanie Ainsworth found points down the stretch which extended the Golden Eagles lead to 15-6 with two minutes left to play in the quarter.
- Cornerstone press allowed for a strong finish to the quarter as they led 21-8 over Defiance.
- Second Quarter
- Laura Innerebner kicked off the second quarter with a tip in basket for the away squad.
- Jaxi Long began to heat up with five quick points of her own including a bucket and a foul as Cornerstone led 28-10 with six minutes left in the half.
- Olivia Kubik found back-to-back buckets on smooth drives in the lane that continued to extend the Golden Eagle lead.
- Julie Ashbaugh secured her first bucket of the game with four minutes left to play in the second quarter.
- In a flash Julie Ashbaugh found two more buckets on fast break plays for the Golden Eagles as they led 41-12.
- Emma Steele closed out the first half with a free throw as Cornerstone entered the break with a 25-point lead.
- Third Quarter
- Defiance started the half on a 5-0 run as they looked for any momentum to take into the remainer of the contest.
- The next two baskets belonged to Jaxi Long and Olivia Kubik as Cornerstone still held a commanding lead.
- Abi Bandstra scrappy defense led her to an easy two at the rim for the Golden Eagles.
- Abby Hall then knocked down a three-point basket for Cornerstone which extended their advantage to 34 points with two minutes left in the third quarter.
- Julie Ashbaugh finished the quarter with two free throws as the score was 60-27.
- Fourth Quarter
- Laura Innerebner started the fourth quarter with a strong bucket down low.
- Julie Ashbaugh added three more points for Cornerstone to continue her strong performance with six minutes left to play in the game.
- Maddie Schuur knocked down a couple free throws for Cornerstone as they led 69-31 with three minutes left on the clock.
- Julie Ashbaugh closed out the game with the final bucket as the Golden Eagles secured a 71-33 victory.
