GRAND RAPIDS, Mich. - Cornerstone University Athletics has earned the NAIA Champions of Character Five-Star Institution Award for focusing on character-driven athletes inside the classroom and on the field of competition.

Institutions are measured on a demonstrated commitment to Champions of Character and earn points in character training, conduct in competition, academic focus, character recognition and character promotion. Institutions earned points based on exceptional student-athlete grade point averages and by having minimal to no ejections during competition throughout the course of the academic year.

Cornerstone earned a perfect 100 points and Gold-level status. The Wolverine-Hooiser Athletic Conference (WHAC) was also named a Five-Star conference thanks to the league's collective commitment for character-driven athletics. Cornerstone was one of 210 institutions to earn this honor and one of 132 institutions to earn Gold-level status.
