Grand Rapids, Mich. – Women's Soccer battled hard but ultimately did not favor well in the match falling 3-0 to Saint Francis on the road. The Cougars put 10 shots on goal compared to Cornerstone zero which truly told the story of the match. The Golden Eagles will look to bounce back fast on Saturday, September 6
th at 6:00 p.m. against Goshen College.
Game Recap: Cornerstone – 0 Saint Francis – 3
First Half:
- The Cougars controlled the first ten minutes of the game with multiple shots as well as one forced save from Corinne McGlassion.
- The Golden Eagles were unable to keep Saint Francis out on their third chance of the game which resulted in a slick move that gave them the 1-0 lead at the 15-minute mark.
- Cornerstone entered the 30th minute of the match struggling on the offensive side of the ball with no shots thus far as they still pressed forward.
- Saint Francis entered the half with a 1-0 advantage over the Golden Eagles with their backline looking strong.
Second Half:
- The second half started quicker for the Golden Eagles as Tori Woodwyk found an early shot, but it went just wide.
- The Cougars were able to maintain their dominant form with yet another goal this time coming in the 73rd minute thanks to heavy chaos created in the box.
- Madeline Billings used her speed up the side of the field to create a shot, but her shot was wide right as the Golden Eagles still could not find a shot on target.
- Corinne McGlassion was called on multiple times late as she managed to nearly keep everything out expect Saint Francis capitalized again to secure the win with their third goal coming in the last two minutes of the match.
- The Golden Eagles will look to take what they can from the 3-0 defeat and prepare for the next match.

The Cougars tallied 18 shots in the game compared to the Golden Eagles four.
Corinne McGlassion was forced to make seven saves on the day.
Saint Francis led the way from the corner flag taking five in the game compared to Cornerstones zero.
