Grand Rapids, Mich. – Women's soccer (2-4-1) head down the street to take on #11 Aquinas College (2-3,) for an important WHAC match. After an exciting 2-2 tie against a different top 15 opponent in Spring Arbor University last week, Women's Soccer sought out another big result against a top ranked team. Both teams had their fair share of attacking opportunities in the first half, as Cornerstone led the way with four shots on goal to Aquinas College's three. Aquinas would break the deadlock 26 seconds into the second half to make it 1-0. Jada VanNoord would tie up the match 1-1 with a successful penalty shot, but Aquinas came out on top with their second goal of the game in the 50th minute of play. Cornerstone Women's Soccer's next match will be down in Fort Wayne, Ind. on Saturday the 27th, to take on Indiana Tech at 4 p.m.

Cornerstone shows their attacking threats with the first shot of the game from Madeline Billings forces a save by the Saints' goalkeeper in the seventh minute of play.

Corinne McGlassion makes her first save of the game in the tenth minute of play to keep the score level 0-0.

An 11th minute shot by Brooke Harmsen goes wide for the Golden Eagles.

Shots are traded back and forth by both teams, as Brooke Harmsen takes another shot on goal to force another save out of Aquinas' goalkeeper.

Aquinas does not let up the pressure as the clock winds down in the first half, forcing another save from Corinne McGlassion, her third of the game.

Before the halftime whistle blows, Madie Smith gets a shot on goal off of her foot, but it is saved and the score ends 0-0 at halftime.
Second Half:

Aquinas sends a shot into the back of the net in the 46th minute of play to take the lead 1-0.

Cornerstone University would respond in about five minutes off of a penalty shot goal from Jada VanNoord, her first of the season.

Immediately from kickoff, Aquinas are on the offensive, and put another goal in the back of the net just eight seconds after the Golden Eagles tied the match.

Cornerstone would make four saves total in the second half to try to stay in the match, but ultimately the Saints take the win 2-1.
