Goshen, Ind. – Men's Volleyball opened the week with a 3-0 sweep over Goshen College. Matthew True led CU with 16 kills and had a .500 hitting percentage while Andrew Galanes set the tone with 27 assists. Ethan Walker continued to shine on the defensive side as the reigning WHAC Defender of the Week had six blocks in the match. The Golden Eagles will get back on the road as they face off against the Fighting Bees of Saint Ambrose and the Cougars of Saint Xavier on Saturday, February 21st.

Game Recap – Cornerstone – 3 Goshen – 0 (26-24, 25-19, 25-17)
 
First Set: Cornerstone – 26 Goshen – 24

• The match began with Goshen taking a quick 4-0 lead over CU.
• Cornerstone fought back to get within four with two kills by Ethan Walker.
• A block by Andrew Galanes and JeQuarri Shannon paired with a service ace by Matthew True gave the Golden Eagles their first lead of the set going up 15-14.
• The set continued to be a back-and-forth battle as kills from Matthew True and Kyle Kuebler made it a 21-21 game.
• Ryder Roberts and JeQuarri Shannon secured a set one victory for Cornerstone with back-to-back kills.

Second Set: Cornerstone – 25 Goshen – 19

• The second set saw the Golden Eagles get out to a 6-2 lead highlighted by a block by Kyle Kuebler and Ethan Walker.
• Cornerstone continued to grow their lead as multiple kills by Matthew True made along with a solo block by Ethan Walker and another block by Andrew Galanes and Walker made it 13-6 game in favor of CU.
• The Maple Leafs battled back but more kills from Matthew True and an ace by Patrick Burke kept Cornerstone ahead by four.
• The Golden Eagles took set two win with Ryder Roberts getting two kills to end the set.

Third Set: Cornerstone – 25 Goshen – 17

• The third set started with the team's trading points as kills by Ethan Walker and JeQuarri Shannon tied the set at four.
• Cornerstone went on an eight-point run with two kills by Matthew True paired with blocks by Matthew True, JeQuarri Shannon and Kyle Kuebler.
• Goshen followed that with a run of their own getting back within two to make it a 12-10 lead for CU.
• A kill by Kyle Kuebler and a service ace from Ryder Roberts extended the Cornerstone lead to 17-12.
• The Golden Eagles secured the 3-0 sweep off multiple errors by the Maple Leafs along with another ace by Patrick Burke.

By The Numbers:
16/.500 – Matthew True led the Golden Eagles with 16 kills and had a .500 hitting percentage.
