Defiance, Ohio – The Golden Eagles traveled across the Midwest for a battle with a hot Defiance team that just took down top ranked Indiana Tech in the WHAC conference. Cornerstone was able to lean on Blake Stewart in the contest who scored 21 points and reached his 1,000^th career point as a Golden Eagle. This set the tone for a 71-60 victory as Cornerstone have now won six of their last seven games. 
 
Game Highlights – Cornerstone – 71 Defiance – 60
First Half

• Blake Stewart opened the scoring in the game with his signature midrange jumper to get Cornerstone on the board. 
• The next big play of the contest came from Levi Schultz who converted a tough three-point play to give Cornerstone a 7-2 lead just three minutes into the game. 
• The Golden Eagles offense continued to shine early as Andy Mora and Blake Stewart both found buckets to extend their lead. 
• The Yellow Jackets saw some deep three pointers fall to stay close in the game, but Blake Stewart found a strong tip in rebound basket to give Cornerstone a 13-8 lead headed into our first media timeout.
• Blake Stewart continued to show out early with a three-ball giving him 9 of the Cornerstone 16 points. 
• Defiance had little answers for the Cornerstone offense this time with Kayden Bird converting on a high floating layup to give the Golden Eagles a 18-12 lead with 12 minutes to play in the first half. 
• The Cornerstone offense continued to thrive through Blake Stewart as he could not be stopped slashing through the lane for two more buckets. 
• Myles Steffen broke free down the floor for a quick bucket to extend the Golden Eagle lead to double digits at the six-minute mark on the clock. 
• Levi Schultz gave Cornerstone a 30-18 lead with four minutes to play in the first half off two strong post moves in the paint. 
• Cornerstone closed out the half with a 14-point advantage thanks to Blake Stewart scoring 19 first half points. 

Second Half

• The Yellow Jackets started the second half strong with the first two buckets to cut into the Cornerstone lead early. 
• Kayden Bird added a quick pair of buckets to help Cornerstone gain a 41-24 lead with 16 minutes left to play. 
• Andy Mora secured five quick points for the Golden Eagles as they still had a commanding lead at the 11-minute mark of the game. 
• Defiance went on a strong run to cut the Cornerstone lead to 49-41. 
• The Cornerstone offense came back to life through Levi Schultz who flushed a big-time dunk and scored another bucket the next time down the floor to keep the lead to double digits. 
• The game continued with back and forth scoring but Cornerstone managed to hold a 60-50 lead headed into the final five minutes of the game. 
• At the 4:34 mark of the second half Blake Stewart secured his 1,000^th career point marking an incredible achievement for the Golden Eagles. 
• Levi Schultz continued his strong second half scoring with another pair of buckets to give Cornerstone a 69-55 lead. 
• The Golden Eagles closed out the win with a final score of 71-60 as they move to 10-13 (WHAC 9-8) on the season. 

By the Numbers 
1,000 – Blake Stewart stole the show in tonight's matchup scoring 21 total points and reaching 1,000 career points. 
20 – Levi Schultz also posted a strong 20-point performance in the well-balanced team win.

The Golden Eagles return back to Mol Arena on Saturday, February 7^th for a battle against Rochester Christian tipping off at 3:00 p.m.
