DES MOINES, Iowa. – A few competitors from the Men's and Women's Track and Field team took the long trek over to the Drake Relays in Des Moines, Iowa.
The first of Cornerstone's competitors were the Men's and Women's 4x800M relays. The men finished second, with a B standard time of 7:37.65, currently 4th in the NAIA. The women's relay finished 10th with a time of 9:29.58, not a standard but good for 11th in the NAIA. Stuart Zachariah Stovall took the number one spot in the NAIA in the Discus with a monster first attempt of 56.18m, a new personal record and an A-Standard. Both Ryan Shinabery and Stuart Zachariah Stovall marked A-Standards in the Hammer Throw, but failed to best their prior records in the event.
Track and Field complete the season before the National Championship at the Wolverine-Hoosier Athletic Conference Outdoor Championships. The WHAC Championships will be held in Fort Wayne, Ind. from April 30-May 1.
