5/20/2026 10:29:00 PM

ASHEVILLE, N.C. – Women's Track and Field began their Outdoor Nationals journey with one addition to the Outdoor All-American list and two school records broken.

Katelynn Dix broke the outdoor school record in the 400M Hurdles in the preliminary round, but unfortunately did not qualify for the finals. The Women's 4x100M prelims saw Cornerstone break another school record on the outdoor list but fell just shy of qualifying further in the event.

Cecily Fager highlighted day one of competition for the Women's Track and Field team as she took fourth place overall in the Pole Vault. After missing the first of her 3.78m attempt, she got back up and made it on the next attempt. Following that, she sailed above the 3.83m mark on the first attempt and clinched a third place finish to earn All-American honors. The 4x800M just missed out on the finals by one spot, but managed to clock a 2nd best time in program history.

Track and Field will continue the Outdoor National Championships with day two of action. Events will resume on May 21, 2026 in Asheville, North Carolina at the Karl Straus Track.
